Then grasp the idea that function comes first for some companies...you build the car around the engine and suspension, not build the engine and suspension for a car.

Porsche's are made to be driven. They can handle hundreds of thousands of miles. Ferrari's and lamborghini's are made to be garage queens. You have to service them every 10k miles at a cost thats more than a new honda civic each time.

the S isnt bad.. its very moddable and cant get rediculous hp..

its on the same chassis as the carrera and handle just as good.. boxter is a great car, just the entry level for porsche, so offcourse its not as good as the other ones..

Of the early 70's yes, then the 924 and 944 in the 80's was the "poor mans" Porsche In the 90's+ it was the Boxster. At least the lowest end Porsche today still has the engine in the back

I just am not a fan of the convertible. The cayman is pretty much a hard top boxster, and I would drive the hell out of it.

I'm not the kid of guy who just likes a car for it's history. I agree that it's ugly, and I think if you truly tried to look at it as a normal car and look past what it represents, you'd agree. I'd never pay price inflated by a) age b)heritage or c)popularity. I'd get a car that is A) fast B)well built C)luxurious or D)all of those. Making a Porsche 2007 911GT3 a much better choice over that car.

I love watching Clarkson but the VQ35 != French. The VQ was designed in the early '90s BEFORE Nissan was well into the red and picked up Ghosn as the first non-Japanese CEO and made a relationship with Renault (see: bails Nissan out from certain death) due to a former position. Because the VQ has worked it's way into Renault cars or that it's plants are funded with Renault money doesn't mean that the engine isn't Nissan, especially considering its existence before the partnership (see: VQ30DE, VQ30DET, VQ30DE-K)

That being said, the Porsche 911 is a legend on planet Earth while the Z is a great car.
