this car will be incredible
Thanks for all the props guys. Just gave out +1's to you all where it would let me.
Internet has been acting up the last few days. Put a little work in the past couple days. Here we go Session 024:
Past due to clean the rear end:
Engine degreaser, tooth brush, and elbow grease FTW:
Ah, up close there is still some residue![]()
So, I went to AutoZone and Wal-Mart for some paint.
For the suspension & crossmember:
For the under carriage, gas tank, and fender wells:
First thing was the gas tank. When I cleaned the tank I also removed a lot of the OEM undercoating![]()
So I used one of the 3m rubberized coating cans (It's not recommended, but since I already had it on hand figure I'd try one out). And it just so happens 3m sent me a response about the dry weight of the undercoating:
Definitely not as thick as the OEM gunk:
Some close ups (3 light coats):
Let it dry for about 2 hours then decided it was time to lay some paint down. Free paint stand FTW![]()
1st coat:
3rd coat:
Some close ups:

More elbow grease applied:
Hit the crossmember with Ajax and red 3m scuff pad:
Scrub it good:
Hose them off and let air dry:
Ready for paint:
(I was going to tape the bushings off, but to hell with it :boobies: )
Looking much better:
Close up:
Left unpainted / Right painted:
Bling:
No bling:
Where they will sit for the next few days. Then I will be painting the back side:
Should look nice under the car:
That's all for now. Hope to paint the crossmember within a couple daysStill need to pull the RTA apart and clean them up for paint and new bushings.
Thanks for looking![]()

Session 025:
I haven't done to much lately. I guess it seems that way because the disassembling of the car is complete. I have been cleaning and painting miscallenous parts. I hope to have most of the parts painted this week. Started ordering parts for the swap and I will post pics as they arrive. I also may have found a swap now. I'll also keep you guys posted with that.
I was pretty happy with the way the engine enamel paint laid down on the front LCA assembly so I moved on to the crossmember.
Nasty:
Hit the 2 ends with the Rustoleum silver:
I let it sit in the house for a few days. Can recommended 48 hours:
Back outside it went:

Last time we'll ever see a dirty fuel filter holder :
Stage 1 of the prepping process for the heat shield:
Moved on to the gas tank filler neck:
Yep, it's dirty:
Cleaned the other rear trailing arm assembly:
Here's the yellow you can see through where I painted the gas tank. I'm going to find some new paint for the undercarriage and return the unused Rust-oleum to Wal-Mart:
How do I remove the metal bracket from the fuse box:
Birds eye view:

Dude....Seriously, you are the fucking man. I would expect this thorough of a job from a shop, but never from an individual in his garage. Mad props and mad respect for not only the build, but the detailed write up also. I cant wait to see what the final product looks like because I know it will be incredible!

always wanted a set of function7 LCAs.. nice![]()
Thanks again guys for the props![]()
Great weather, cheap rental, smooth transaction. Couldn't of asked for more.....
....well, I was reminded of one of the reasons I do not like Atlanta:
Some entertainment![]()
Met up with my buddy in Cleveland, TN. I watched him work on a Lexus SUV then we grabbed some lunch at Zaxby's. He started the business about 6mths ago:
At the salvage yard.
LS:
127k and clean:
The rental and the beast:
The Tundra is an awesome truck. Rides like a dream, no squeaks or rattles, and good power. The instrument panel and controls are nicely placed and very appealing at night. When I got back in my 2006 Accord LX I felt like I was getting back in the hatch from the Accord (when the hatch was running last year). The steering, power, and comfort is 10X better in the Tundra. If the gas mileage was not so bad I would have to consider this vehicle.
Enough of this before I end up selling the Accord.
The donor:
I really like this shift knob. If I decide to go with it, I will purchase a new one from Acura:
Heading back:
Tennessee is really a beautiful place:
More entertainment for the ride home:
Here we go again (1615 hours):
Saw this teg as I made my way down I-75:
Thanks for looking![]()
