Don't get me wrong, a skyline is an awesome car, and I do know it's got power and potential, but it's still only a Nissan. You can make it fast, or handle good, but it's never gonna have a character or that exquisite look you get in a European car.
A Porsche will always be a Porsche, a classic sports car that has a history. It's always gonna have character, looks, and prestige.
I'd rather take a GT-R than a Porsche. It's "only" a Nissan? Big f*cking deal. Get off the high horse and look at the car itself rather than the badge. You talk about character? Aside from a Carrera GT or Cayman, I've yet to see anything from Porsche since the 80's that's been even relatively exciting to me. It's more like they're rehashing the same old sh*t over and over again. It's boring and before you make any backlash, yes I have driven them. They're fun little sports cars, but they're definitely not the cars that they used to be. Want to sell me a European car? Give me a BMW anyday.

Then you talk about having history. I wasn't aware that the GT-R had no racing history. I'm assuming then that you don't want to talk about how it practically dominated the JGTC then? My apologies.

Oh, the sad elitism is killing me. Your post may have actually had a small shred of merit had it not been for this arogant spatter you stained it with here.

I'm not Japanese-biased by far, which is more than I can say for the elitism that you seem to be accustomed to. Is the Skyline the best car ever? Hell no, not by a long shot. Even still, the GT-R is a fine example of Japanese performance and I expect to see even more examples of Asian engineering to follow behind it. If your Doc Martens are shaking because you're afraid of a little competition then you're about to be sent up sh*t creek without even a boat. Get off the elitism and realize that great sportscars come from all reaches of the world.
