Hate is the wrong word to use, I don't hate the car, I just said it's not a street car!!!
Street cars go way back, do you call nascar "stock car racing"? GTFO... Look up the super stocker's if anything, factory built race cars!! Damn, you guys can argue about a damn peanut I bet... Every class has different rules to a street class, I don't agree with all of them, just posted what the Import street class was that was running 10's. never said it's a true street car, just showing that in that class they are running 10's all motor.. You may not agree, your choice!!
Here it has gauges, radio, two seats, an alternator, no ac (but hell neither do half the swapped civics) has DOT tires, weighs in over 3000 lbs, sheet metal hood, panels, just cause he can afford a $20,000 lenco dont discriminate (since you arent hating lol)

Larson's car is openly recognized by most professional racers as a street legal car, that actually is a street car. it's also got more money in it than most people have in their house.
My 64 Impala came with a Powerglide, and still had the original transmission up until I just changed to a Turbo 350 2 years ago. I daily drove the car for over a year, and it has made a lot of trips down to Florida with that Powerglide.
Guess this is a street car too huh? Damn 4 bangers!!!

Look, It's got, dash, seat, 5 speed, doors that open, reverse, etc.. No carpet or ac though!! :P

you really are a jackass man...that car cant make it much more than a 1/4 mile at a time, there is a huge difference in those cars...ignorance is bliss is what the old saying is i guess...funny thing is that all out race car still isnt as fast as larsons on DRs :lmao:
He has a 3000lb race car, clutches need replaced, engine needs rebuild, all after what 6-7 passes? I remember a video of him saying the motor was hurt on that 6.95 pass..
I bet you will say that car don't have a 4 link ether huh, running stock suspension huh? You guys are the fools if you truly be-leave that's a street car!!
Nascar runs stock cars too, HUH?
LOL, but i'm the dummy...
Rules are bent because people with fat pockets can do that, or because a class crys so much they change the rules to suit them..
Not hating on the guys with sponsor's or big bank rolls, god for bid you think that....Lmao!!
EDIT:
Sorry folks, i was raised around the grass roots racing.. Family raced real Street cars, stock cars, not this bullshit you guys claim it to be, that is the main reason i will not support those dumb ass classes you seem to think are street classes..
Not everyone has a 100,000 dollars to build, as you call it a "STREET CAR", bahahahahah!!
Did ether of you watch the full event? Did you see the big block guys with pump sprayers, spraying the radiators going down the road, stopping to cool off, etc? Naw, its a street car, why would they do that? Hmm guess we do that in street cars huh?
Take me to la la land, damnit man!!
What's next, The world is flat?
Haters gonna hate, and all you are is a hater...no one said anything about stock suspension, and does it hurt your feelings that it still outran that race car with a "hurt engine" and 6 or 7 passes plus the 1200 mile trips in between, better than rebuilding every 2 1/4 mile passes like that civic you posted...o well keep hating :goodjob:
Naw homie, never gonna hate... That's what they do, and can afford... I like my little rice bucket, I'll drive anywhere, get 20+mpg and in 100,000 miles I'll rebuild or buy another Honda motor..
When you speak of a Street Car, atleast pick one the uses the stock mounting points for suspension, tube frame, back-halfed cars are not street cars... geeezzz
I'd rather you post about this crap... This I can agree with, being I built 4 cars which competed... More of a true street car!!
http://www.mustang50magazine.com/fea...t/viewall.html
Bobby, how about I know of several LOCAL True SS Mustangs (and other cars) that run inthe 5.0 range in the 1/8 (some faster, some slower), that do that on DRs, and are "street legal" - much more so that any of the 10 sec Civics you posted. All of the Mustang's run high 7's and low 8's in the 1/4. There are tons of them, just go to any Radial Revolution event (there is one in October at SGMP).
You say apples to apples, well, stick to that.
I don't keep up with the stuff no more, I'm sure they are out there, the red vette was the a lot closer to a street car in my eyes..LOL
.. And I don't mean my cars, meaning the cars I help to build while working at Modular...
Fastest one to compete in KOTS went 9.99, and that was after we install an auto..
I figured they weren't yours but appreciate the answers, im a KOTS fan, and that atomic orange vette is pure sex on wheels. But on a side note have you not seen a guy named matts 1016 whp pump gas vette, or hunters customers 1000+ whp procharged convertible vette? There are some serious cars roaming the streets of ga lol
I follow Hunter a little, but only what they post on youtube.. He used to post on here, but they all stick to MCE now, and I haven't been to a trackday since 09 I think.. :(
This vette?

Thank you for actually understanding what a street car is...
and how did this thread become a mustang drag racing thread? oh wait I remember. the same way all the other honda threads got derailed....
notice how almost everyone has stopped posting.... shows how much interest they have in purpose built drag race mustangs :goodjob:
I asked about racing Hondas - the responses that I got back from a certain someone made it clear that it's not fair unless he is allowed to win.... and that if it is a gutted unstreetable Honda its a street car, but anything else is a full race car.
Mosely, I know that you know James' Camaro, and Blake's Camaro. Both of those have run their times on street tires, and are full interior DD's with minor normal mods. As far as I can tell, no Honda in this thread has gone 12.0's on motor and street tires,no matter how high they rev, or hosw much they've cut weight. Your's is the only one that I've seen run decently on the street even.
Just seems like it makes more sense to roll a boulder downhill, rather than push it uphill.
Personal preference is always fine. Doesn't have to make sense to anyone else.
I have a Honda "Civic" that I would like to build, but no time to do it. Start with a 600 (car), and put an 07 CBR600 engine in it,right behind the back seat. No reverse, but light enough to push backwards.

I posted it because that is their street class, and if you notice they do have tags.. Now, will my car do that, umm no... Does my car have every panel, umm yes, did it run 12 on street tires, umm yes.. But your comparing All Motor cars to boosted V8's, then you come out with Larson...Bahahaha
If I was to post about some Boosted honda's running 9's you would say the same shit, But yes they have a street class that runs 9's... Do we have local guys running 10's in boosted Honda's, umm yes..
It's a debate that will go on for years, if we (honda guys)get fastest you (v8 guys) say aww it's because it's stripped and only weighs 2000lbs.. Get real man, I mean I'm not the only one with a Civic CX, they are made to be light from the factory.. I can't help you (v8 guys) picked a 3-4000lb car to mod...LOL
Here it's a civic coupe, street class also, note that it has a tag...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nl432v0Dgx0
you guys are just arguing stuff that doesnt make sense. You cant compare v8 street cars that are RWD to FWD Hondas that have 2.4l and under.
A more ACCURATE comparison would be comparing a 8 second all motor mustang to a 10 second all motor honda civic.
Hondas run 12s pretty easily with few mods. Mustangs run 11s pretty easily with few mods (or even high 10s).
David,
what it takes to own a 10 second ALL MOTOR honda makes it NOT STREET LEGAL i dont care if it has a tag or not. The power it takes to make that kind of ET is in the 280-300whp range, and the car has to be sub 2000 lbs. It usually runs on race gas, 12-13+:1 compression, etc. It has cams that arent that streetable usually, or ITBs, etc. Sure you could drive it on the street, but chances are it has so much money in it, why take the risk.
Im sure there are plenty of semi full interior mustangs running 10s (maybe not on motor) that are much more "streetable".
It's a Bike man...
Look, I know I get myself into the bashing fest, and it's cool.. You don't respect the Honda thing that's cool, but at-least respect the man hours, effort, etc which goes into the cars.. It's not that I'm one-sided, cause I'm a Car Nut.. I respect anything or anyone who does this, no matter the car..
Compare me to most of the other Street Cars that you see out at the meets, line me against those car which are on street tires also.. That is my point here!!
I will not win every race, not saying that, but lets make it somewhat fair!!
EDIT:
Now, put my car on slicks.. 12.4-5 maybe? With a tune-up I'm sure it would go a .3, Moseley and Jones both run low 12's, are they street cars? Hell ya!!!
Could any of us go 11's, I would think so.. Moseley could do it faster than we could, but that's what we have here in Atlanta...:boobies:
THis thread will go on for years!!
Well back on topic:
B SERIES FTW come Nov!!!!!
:taun:
Considering the fastest NA car in GA (that we know of or that shows up to race) is chips car, and if he shows up thats prob a true statement. I dont see anyone else breaking 11s against him all motor. Mose is the closest one, but i dont think he has the chassis prep to get there and i dont think he really wants to do all that work to get there. 12.2 is a far cry from 11.6. I think hes happy with a low 12s all motor car he can truly daily drive. but maybe im wrong.
Gregg wont show, or if he does hell run 14s.
Jones can show up but he wont have anything for Chip (no dissrespect but a 12.6 is not going to compete against mose or chip)
I heard the Midnight Auto hatch was for sale by the actual owner of the car. Who says it doesnt get sold or break again......even then have they broken 11s in GA yet?
The guy from Alabama with the white EF hatch thats H2B was knocking on 11.9s last time i saw him few years ago. if hes still around then hes prob the closest threat.
I hope you guys realize when you talk about how bad the georgia all motor scene is (which i disagree with) i hope you are all INCLUDING yourselves in that group. Whp is impressive, but if we are talking track times, no one is really within half a second of chip.
