I think that its just that the "slow cars" are the ones that can't back up their claims. If "we've found"/concluded that they (the slow cars) are indeed the "shit talking douchebags", then why aren't they banned yet?

The slowest people are the loudest mouths most the time, whereas MOST of the faster cars know their place, and make callouts accordingly.

If everyone already "knows their place", then there really wouldn't be any racing at all, unless it was against perfectly even-matched cars, all boiling down to driver skill. Since that's what we're trying to measure anyway when you get a "good race" (against evenly matched cars), why is it so wrong to handicap some cars just to make the racing a little closer? For most, calling out a C6Z on bald-ass street tires versus a large turbo civic hatch on slicks is an obvious and understood admission that the C6Z is indeed the faster car. It is just that since the Civic driver wants to get a "good race" (close finish), he will request some handicaps in an attempt to get the race closer. If you don't agree with that type of racing, then decline it. If the Civic driver commences to shit-talking, thats when the ban-stick comes out. I was under the impression that this was the normal order, and I fail to see any problem with it?

As far as lying about how fast your car is, that won't fly either. This forum isn't setup for typing, it's setup for racing. Someone will QUICKLY find out if you have a 12 second car or not if you are posting in here (look at the Sinfix15 threads for example).

Oh, I agree that this is the internet and that anything can be found out about anyone at any time. However, if this subforum would like to keep an influx of interesting and new members into the mix, then I do not see how pw protecting it is going to help this. I think the trade-offs of being an exclusive forum, in order to weed out slower car will be somewhat of an inhibition to new members.

But if someone thinks that a 14 or 15 second car is a "race car," or something ANYONE gives a shit about seeing, then they probably don't have the mental capacity to have a decent conversation in the first place. It's not like it takes a lot of money or work to get a car into the 12's anyway, especially with what's available out there today.

For the record, I do think that it is ridamndiculous for a "slow car" to talk shit. It annoys me greatly. I just don't think that forum exclusivity by way of pw-protection is the best way of doing it.
It is my belief that less traffic will lead to less entertainment, which will lead to less involvement. I agree that it will be more concentrated, but I think that in the long-run, it would not be a great move.
