Too often people will bring up a possible solution, that is a never ending pit.

IF the gov't allowed anyone's version of the "ten commandments", what would stop anyone from posting something that purposely offends someone else (as you well know and often use yourself)?

The word "God" is in the Constitution of the U.S. and in just about EVERY state's Constitution for the last 200 yrs, yet people are just now getting "offended" by it??? What? People were deaf and mute before? Maybe stupid? Or maybe is it that we have far more whiners and PC sissies today?

It doesn't bother me one bit to take them out or leave them in. What bothers me is how the least majority and loudest squeaky wheel is the ONLY one that gets the grease. There are far more important things to focus attention and resources onto than this petty thing.

It's called due process and every single citizen is entitled to it by the Constitution. But I do agree with you that it is a terrible waste of resources.

I suppose if the amount of time wasted by the people that want it taken OUT is OK though????? They as a matter of fact where the FIRST to bring legal action into the mix when they were sooooo "offended" by a rock.....

Again, the gov't wastes tax dollars in the millions every single day. How much does a plaque cost? $10 ONE time? So money should not be the issue. Do the research and see how much of "your" tax dollars are not being embezzled by politicians every day? How much of "your" tax dollars is going towards the funding of fun trips and unnecessary luxuries afforded politicians in the name of serving you? Trust me there are infinitely far greater tax dollar waste in every level of gov't that a mere plaque in the courthouse lobby is not even a drop in the preverbial bucket.

What about law books? What about registries? What about public notices?

My point is that there are far more inflamatory, defaming, and even more mentions of religion in other documents all over any courthouse. Again, WHERE will it end? People have to learn to be a little more tolerant to those things they don't agree with because no matter how much you jump up and down about it, you can only change ONE person's mind about anything.....your own.

Just because you take down a document I agree with doesn't mean I'm suddenly going to forget about or disagree with it.....it's not out sight/out of mind for something like that. Even extremist Christians aren't right about this issue IMO.

It wasn't a big deal until the athiests made a big deal about it. Why is it such a bid deal now?

The First Amendment states, "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof." Everything in the Constitution is up for interpretation...just like the Bible. I won't argue that b/c I'd be here all day.

We all pick and choose are battles with how the government abuses its powers. I'm sure there are things that get under your skin. But should it be swept under the rug? Your voice should just as loud as the voice of 200,000 Americans. If you wanted to take action b/c the city of Atlanta is paying $125,000 in fines every month for polluting the Chattahoochee.....I'd support you. I expect all Americans to blow the whistle on government fraud. Will it make a difference? LOL...probably not. But we all still have to try. We can't just look away and hope it blows over.

We have to fight for what believe no matter how trivial. But we are creating a huge divide in this country during the process. I don't see it slowing down anytime soon.

I honestly don't want to see displays of a religious or spiritual nature in any courthouse. We're there for one reason.......to beat the ticket.

BTW, without Christianity there would be no Atheism.
