haha i didnt forget either. the added weight still doesnt equal that of the M3( 1542 kg / 3400 lbs ~200lbs heavier than the Z). it would all be dependent on Driver skill, gearing (3.62:1 on the M3), the M3's Throttle responce (itbs stock), conditions and Tune (your right). you're forgetting the difference in Tq output also between the cars. the Z makes more low-midrange Tq stock compared to the M3, and supercharged that number would drastically increase. i think this would be more of a case of Poor driving skill

I'm no expert on supercharged Z's and I only know what I have seen, I have known two people with procharged VQ's, both got rid of it because it doesn't deliver, the M3 should have no problem with one and most certainly a stock Z. Vortech and HKS make the best superchargers for the VQ but most often guys will switch to turbo when they want big horsepower.

Curb weight on a Z is around 3300lb.. maybe 3200 on the track edition but add a supercharger and other mods and its easily heavier than an M3.

haha there is no way that supercharger set up =200lbs lol especially being a centrifugal set up. (sc12 set up for my MR2: roots blower, pully, bracket, Belt, piping and intercooler weight ab 100-120 lbs, and that blower is an old heavy 1.2l roots style) if anything it would weight ab the same as a stock m3, and thats giving alot toward your arguement. still doesnt equate for the lack of power compared to what the Z should be producing. despite Z owners oppinions the kits still dyno 370-380whp..thats almost 80whp more than the M3 and ab 120 more ft lbs tq.

Out the box a supercharged VQ without tuning puts down 330-350whp.. if that. Trust me on this one, when superchargers came on the market people didnt think the VQ could even hold 380whp, I remember this personally since I was considering going forced induction on my VQ at the time.

On the weight thing, you're assuming the Z is the track version which isn't that common, especially boosted. There are too many variables here but from what I know.. the M3 still has the advantage. Horsepower doesn't automatically mean you will win, Charles (ct9a gsr) handed my twin turbo G35 its ass and it made about 20 more hp than his Evo did at the time (highway runs, in mexico of cource) the VQ isn't geared for high horsepower because the gears are too short and the redline is too low. I'll leave the subject alone now.

yeah man im not trying to get in a pissing match, im just trying to add up all the variables like you said. Maybe even learn something. Ive seen cars with more than 100 less hp beat cars thought way outta their league. ex. buddies MKI S/C MR2, modded SC14, 181mm pully(18psi), exhaust..etc making 187whp completely obliterate a stock c5 z06...so i see your point
