I know that you know a shitload about ls1's so Im not going to begin to dispute ls1 specifics with you. But, just answer one question honestly here...
True or False: Some people (regardless of if its the "right" thing to do in your opnion) who are building motors for nitrous will build them to be lower compression than they would otherwise build a N/A motor, so that they can run more timing (making it run better normally) or require lower octane in their street car (whether or not you think its true.)

Yeah some people do crazy things but yes they do build them for lower compression. Different set ups thats what make people run diiferent

high compression motor with low timming will run better then a low compression motor with al lot timming.....i am sure you will dispute that too...

I think thats true in general. I generally dont dispute things I believe to be true.
Besides, I wasnt disputing anything, except the statement by thacker that his car is a "cam-only" car. Its really a fully-built motor with stock heads.
You also arent admitting the truth that some people do build nitrous street motors purposely with lower compression.

BTW, whats the compression ratio now on this "cam-only" SS, since you no so much about it?

I don't think compression has a lot to do with it but more by choice unless it is gonna be strictly used for one purpose (NOS, Blower, Etc.). I have everything from 8:1 to 12:1 and the higher the compression the faster they seem to go. You just have to be careful on the timing issue or your day can be ruined in one pass.

I think the main issue is if your gonna use it as a daily driver because if you are then you won't care to ride around in a 16:1 car all day in traffic, etc...

    Just my .02.
