    Also F-body guys do refer to there cars as cam only when it has bolts as well. Its just understood in the f-body world that if you have the cam 99.999999% you have all the bolt ons as well. Not takings sides I just work on them all day everyday and thats the way it goes if you drive a mullet mobile like me and other F-body owners

    from a dig(ls1 on the bottle): if J can get the 240 out the hole and stay even with him until he gets into 3rd, there will need to be someone at the 1/4 mark to call it.

    from a dig to 130 or 140mph(same scenario): same as above until the 120mph mark....J will start to walk.

    from any kind of race with the ls1 on motor only....J will get brought up on rape charges

    rolling start with ls1 on bottle.....J will walk him after 120mph



    that's a premonition i just had....call me the black howard cossell (s/p)

    If that evo that got owned by the camero is a "newer evo viii" hes retarted to be launching off the rev limiter because 05s have launch control at 5000. If hes gonna launch about 7000 and bog hes retarded and should never own an evo and go get a honda where u can launch them hard. didnt want to get too involved in this but i just had too bc all that shit talking about us imports. If you shit talk so much back it up. I.E. dont just race only from 0-100 do more than just that, bc thats all your car can do.     Hi, I'm obviously new to this and gave up about half way reading through this thread. So if someone have already mentioned this, I apologize. Like myself, It seems that there are so many people interested in this race and more than likely the race will go down as it seem. Since money (in the $1000) are flying and getting thrown around, my two cent would be to do it at a strip where it is legal ie commerce; instead of on the street. Perhaps make an event out of it and would give people more opportunity to run their cars as well? Just my two cents.

    Ok, (again, not taking sides) but let's get real here........

    A car that already runs 11.6 @ 117 + 200 shot = about 10.6 @ 132 assuming good traction (with slicks that's no problem).
    So unless someone has a trap speed that's close to 130, it's pointless to assume that the Camaro will lose to the 240 or either of the M3s from any speed up to 140mph (unless they invest in slicks and/or tougher trannies).

    He should run Slowhawk......I would run him in my T/A but it was in a accident recently and goes in the body shop friday......When it gets fixed I will run his camaro if he would like

    You're right. You can also run a high CR with forced induction applications as well. Although, you really can't compare compression ratio and boost of one engine to a totally different engine that has a different bore and stroke.

    Power comes from Fuel, air, compression, given spark at the right time. Compression ratio is math to help you determine the compression (pressure) you will have at TDC. As most people know to make the most power you are trying to stuff the most air/fuel you can in there at the highest compression your assembly will handle without detonation. In this case, a high quality forged rotating assembly can handle the higher CR and nitrous, it's all only up to a point though. Friction(which is heat) is another factor, this is where the detonation comes in... every enigne has its own dynamic compression ratio which is influenced by mechanical factors variables are adjusted in tuning to prevent detonation. There are so many factors and I can go on and on... and then the question... why do engine builders recomend LOWER CRs on boosted applications... and that is because you will have more options when it comes to matching up the compressions, the amount of boost, cam(s), head(s), intake, exhaust, timing, spark, squish or quench area, surface temps, air inlet temps, fuel, & fuel octane.
