Hi, I'm obviously new to this and gave up about half way reading through this thread. So if someone have already mentioned this, I apologize. Like myself, It seems that there are so many people interested in this race and more than likely the race will go down as it seem. Since money (in the $1000) are flying and getting thrown around, my two cent would be to do it at a strip where it is legal ie commerce; instead of on the street. Perhaps make an event out of it and would give people more opportunity to run their cars as well? Just my two cents.

Hey, so Im not going to jump on the thacker-bashing bandwagon here to give you more shit over this, because lord knows youre in-it deep enough anyway, but it sounds to me that you basically have a fully-built, higher-compression motor, but with stock heads. In my opinion, you calling it a "cam-only" SS makes it sound like you are sandbagging your setup a little bit. Also, since you keep stressing off-bottle, it kind-of understates the fact that you have a higher-compression, built setup.
