    Default Hydroshutter's Cobra Vs. Nyteryder's 240 *video*

Rematch whenever the 240 gets fixed, good runs. That's a fast 240, heh.

'ol Charles is viewing the thread, taking notes, deciding which of his minions he is going to send out next to battle against the fast black car (and one LeMans blue) crew.

Props to NyteRyder. That's a fast car. Do you have the exact weight of it? You said it was around 2600, What all have you done to reduce the weight?

I don't wanna answer for him....but I'm gonna do it anyway.

No IRS brace or anything to make it "safe" to launch from a dig, so I'm pretty sure he will only go from a roll.

I haven't yet, but I certainly wouldn't be opposed to it.

It's hard to launch....but there's only one way to learn

Kinda sucks it has the torque management written into the ECU. I was reading a post by Ranger, saying that the better you launch the car, the more the TM affects it down the run. The better his 60' time was, the worse his quarter mile time was. I can't remember the exact numbers, but I wanna say his 1.7 60' yielded him a 11.5 quarter, but his 1.9s 60' got him an 11.21. Something like that.

Anyway, my point is....I'm not sure how good the car will run from a dig, but I am certainly interested to try it. It's just a matter of finding a good spot to do it.

P.S. I prefer to go from a roll, because the videos we make are trying to compare the cars instead of the drivers. We feel that going from a 50mph+ roll, there's not much you can really screw up. Things aren't going to be perfect, but from a roll you eliminate a lot of driver error, and come closer to seeing a matchup of the vehicles involved.

I don't know about newer Mustangs, but back in the day when I was running my old '85 Vette around the town I grew up in, there were a million Mustangs (mostly fox bodies) around that wanted to race me. NONE of them wanted to go from a dig, all of them wanted to go from a roll. I always wanted to go from a dig in that car, 'cause it launched like mad. But I always had far better traction than any Mustang I raced.

I think you 'n your buddies ran my friend's cbr600rr one day this past week or so... just curious, were you making 516/505 or 793/831 when you ran the bike? He had nothing but nice things to say 'bout you guys...

Nice runs against the 240... if you run Jeremy, ask for the honk... letting him honk gives all the time he needs to prepare some hardcore BB'n. =]

I forget that guy's name, but we did run him. The bike surprised both of us!!

Anyway, that was Rick that ran him, not Jeff (the guy in this video). It gets confusing with all the black Mustangs heh

Someone let me know the next time any of you guys run and I'll bring out my Honda.

I'd like to see how I fair against such beastly cars.

Edit: And yes, very nice runs. That 240 is quuuuuick and the Mustang is very fast also.

Yeah, the video quality was great. I love daytime racing much more because you can see more of what's going on.

Charles stop acting like a little bitch, the only way you are happy is when you have all advantages or you are racing a car that you know you are faster than. Unlike you I dont care if I lose, but I would rather race my car at max potential.

I definately want to see how I fair up when you're 100%. I slept on the 2-3 in the first race and shut down because Andy(Z06) was coming up fast; otherwise I would've stayed in it. That car is fucking light.

you know if you take your car to a shop and get everything done right, your car would be more of a beast, I have been through the problem of ic piping popping off and various other problem. There no substitue for just paying the money and having it done right. I bet you will pull even better numbers. Did you build your bottom end or is it stock.

good runs J i think dan was having a similar leak between the turbo and manifold, are you using the same megan gaskets that came with the mani? i heard those gaskets along with the xspower and ssaouthochrome are weak...ive got one too

I dont have an ssa or an xspower turbo so I dont think garrett would send me on of those gaskets. On a better note I think since I am gonna take the turbo off anyway to fix the leak I am gonna go ahead and put the other turbo on.

This is true, my skills are of no comparison to a shop, but I would never take my car to a shop to fix something that myself or my friends can do ourselves. If I run into a few problems so be it, fix it and keep steping. Bottom end is stock.
