LOL Brandon, Lurker wouldn't come out anyway. I honestly believe only a handful of people in this section really even come out. The rest just put in their two cents and make claims about what their cars can do or have done, or just don't have a fast car at all.
Bitches.
I would if it wasnt over an hour ride for me. And my car is down at the moment switching blocks.

So Lurker is driving that M3? I never knew that was his, thought it was someone's who wasn't on here.
I can't tell how fast it is from the video, since he yanks Stone sometimes, and sometimes stays way back. Would it be a good run with me? I can come out if you guys think it'd be a good run. And you know me, I do those high speed rolls with my gearing.

What gearing do u have Lank b/c you mention that a lot - yet I see other Vettes who'll gladly dig.

My gearing has nothing to do with why I don't like dig races.
It's a 3.42, but my gears are completely different from any other 3.42 in a GM vehicle. On top of that, my car revs 500RPM higher than any other factory car that has a 3.42, so I have a substantial difference in the speed I reach in each gear. I've tried 1st gear several times and it's just a waste, so I always go from 2nd gear. As you know, people usually like between 20 - 40mph, but my 2nd gear doesn't hit its powerband until 70mph....so I prefer something closer to that speed.

Sounds like you've built a setup that only does a certain thing well, but you want every1 else to compensate for it.
How about you run their race if they run yours??? Not poking - just a thought.
"I'm not a gynecologist... but I'll take a look."![]()

No, I haven't "built" any "setup" for my car. It's stock with bolt ons....this is how the car comes from the factory, and I am plenty happy with it.
And how can you make a comment as to what I expect of people? I have ALWAYS compromised with people, and typically do 40 - 45mph rolls, ask anyone who has actually raced me. I KNOW my car is geared way higher than anyone else's, and DO NOT expect them to do ridiculously high rolls. It's rare to run into someone who actually has a similar "sweet spot" that I do, and this M3 looks like it has massive traction issues at low speeds...that's why I said something.
But please find where I have made callouts to people telling them they have to start a race at 60+mph...I don't do it. I also usually just respectfully decline races against people with very low gears, because I know it's unfair to ask them to do a 50+mph roll when they run out of gearing at 115mph, and I know it's just pointless for me to try to race them in their powerband when I'm at 3200 RPMs to start off with.

This bimmer rides out, you can come get some too Lank for $200 from a roll to whatever speed.
Relax man. I simply notice that you always want a high(er) speed roll and don't dig much so inquiring minds want to know. I wasn't talking about the 40-45 rolls I was referring moreso to digs. As I stated "not poking" so you wouldn't take it that way.
So you'll run any1 else's race? To include digs??
I didn't say you made a callout to any1 - show ME where I said that you did. You answered my question long ago kid, and that answer makes sense to me.

Damn Lank, You have had me scratching my head for several seconds... lol. I have a GTO with the stock 3.46 gears in the rear and im a M6. Im like... how the hell is his sweet spot at 70mph in second?????? Then i finally realized... You must have an automatic?

No, I have a 6 speed. I wish I could find that good gear calculator that showed each speed at every RPM in each gear, but I couldn't find it through a quick Google search.
I've got stock 3.42's, 7100 RPM red line, and 345/30/19 tires. My car goes to about 93mph in 2nd gear, and hits either 5000 or 5500 RPM's at 70mph (can't remember off the top of my head). I hit peak horsepower around 6200 - 6300 RPMs, but I start getting into my power band at around 5500 RPMs.

They are a noticeably higher sidewall, even though they're both a 30 series. But if you plug in the numbers, just changing to a 345 will change the speed in each gear.
In fact, Rob and I were laughing the other night because I ride people's asses all the time when I'm out, I even yelled at one guy for doing 5+ mph UNDER the speed limit in the left lane, then it hit me that my speedo might be off because of the tires lol

I understand it's a Z06.... Why do you think i kept racking my brain to figure out whats going on? lol. Ok, I didn't contribute the extra 1000 rpms you have.and the tires do make a difference. I read somewhere that the GTO, Z06 and the CTS-V have the same gear ratios in the tranny. I dont know if they were talking about the early C5's or the C6's though. My car goes to 68mph in 2nd gear at 6100 redline. So your car slightly higher gear(lower number) and taller tire is helping you alittle bit.
I want a Z06.

Just so you know the "series" or tire height changes as a tire get wider. A 345/30 is not the same as a 325/30. I believe the way it goes the 30 is a percentage of the width of the tire. So sidewall height is 30% of tread width. Or something like that. That may be wrong(percentages part) but the principle of how the two change together is accurate.

Not to split hairs, but I went from Goodyears to Michelins, and often times sizes will vary from manufactuer to manufactuer. It may just be the shape of the tires as well. The Goodyear was very "squared" and neat looking, whereas the Michelin is much more rounded the way the tread meets the sidewall. The tires look stretched on a Viper wheel, but then all smashed up on mine. I never measured both sidewalls, but it is a VERY noticeable difference in tire size, even looking at it from a distance.
When I swapped out the front tires, I went with the exact same size, just Michelin as opposed to Goodyear, and the sidewalls are taller on the fronts too.
