If that 380ish (LOL) whp integra is willing to run Lank from a dig, I'll give Lank 1/2 of the winnings.

I went ahead and hopped in that thread.

That dude can race me at SDR if he wants. I hate going from a dig on the street (of course I've been suckered into it more than once before).

Haha well there is only one way to find out. Gotta run him..
However, try putting 205's on the back of your car, then somehow get the weight to transfer the wrong way when you hit the gas, giving the wrong tires more traction. It's a double negative that produces no positive result hah. Now you have the Golf's problem.
On DR's it would be much better, but from any speed below 60/70mph it'll still light them up like crazy

Yeah, I didn't realize he was on street tires. It's tough, I know. I can't get into mine until about 80+mph when it gets below 55 - 60 degrees. You just can't go WoT. But he should still be able to put a big hurtin' on 300whp cars even at half throttle until 100mph or whatever. Most cars weigh 3200+ lbs. So honestly, MOST cars would be so much slower he could easily just pussy foot it through half the race and be fine.

I met up with the VRT last night and got pulled by a bus+ w/ him on 15 psi. Went down as I thought it would though my car is only putting down around 300whp to his 400+ whp

Car looks fast. I know your pain about the traction ... Im about to go back to the dyno and ill be about where you are now... Well have to meet up some time.

If you are talking to me....the higher speed, the better. My car doesn't even hit its peak HP in 2nd gear until about 75mph.

But I was just suggesting in general. Even though you can't go wide open, you should still be able to beat people with a lot less hp. We can line up if you want. I can't go WOT until about 80 or 90mph myself, when it's cold out.

Factor in we don't know what gear the VW has either.

I think it would be interesting from a 60mph roll.
yea but you also have to look at gearing and aerodynamics.....and the ability to feather the throttle

yeah i would love to run you just to see how i stack up, prob. going to get outran! but thats not what its about for me i just like seeing fast cars! Most of the time if im running a guy i know i can beat i just use a higher gear say 3rd insted of 2nd. and just catch them on the top end.

i like the way it looks for one and two DR's are too damn expensive! all i coud go would be a 225... 20mm ain't going to do squat. since it spins the 8"et slicks at the track but yeah i have though about it.. probably going to by some DR's next time i buy tires

DR's are usually cheaper than street tires, I think. And if you're not burning out in them all the time, you can easily get over 10k miles out of them.

I use street tires for the ride and durability, but they are more expensive than DR's (they just last longer).

But maybe it depends on the size. Street tires are VERY expensive on 17+" wheels, but DR's aren't that bad for those sizes.

Give me a ring or confirm with Brad a time and I'll head out. It's about a 45 min drive for me to get up there, want to make sure you'll be able to make it, lol. If not, no big deal we can try another day

I guess we are going to have to try another day. its just tough for me to get out that late on a weeknight. Maybe this weekend like sat night or something we can catch up with each other and some of the other guys can come out too.

    Ok, sounds good.

I tried a few runs last weekend when it was 30 degrees out or so. Couldn't even give it half throttle up until around 70 - 80mph, was useless.

Yeah, that was something different. Not quite sure what happened there. The track was slick as hell, but I think my rear tires were spinning then quickly grabbed with one spinning way faster than the other.
