Seems that heat soak in the GT500 was really killing it, however in a lot of the runs where Lank pulls ahead, he got a much better start without as much spinning.

good video, but my ? is if someone was gonna spend the money for the 2.8kb on top of the gt500 motor, y the hell would they only run 12 psi, they could run 18-20 reliably and make 750rwhp

I am not quite sure what the stock fuel system can handle, but I'd imagine it's "only" at 12 psi for it to run safely without straining any part of the stock setup.

He talked about getting new headers and turning it up to 14 or so psi. I'd imagine that could easily make 700rwhp+

The funny thing is you will still outrun him. I think his dyno #'s are not correct!It's like you had the 640rwhp and he had the 500rwhp!! Good job,and keep it up. Your car is awesome!

there was one tuned not long ago with only a kb2.8 @20psi, jlt intake, longtubes, dual stock gt500 pumps and he made 850rwhp, i would guess his limitations are because of the stock fuel pump. good kill either way though

Is that on pump, pump + meth or race fuel? A lot of people dont want to deal with race gas or meth injection. I dont know of any smallblock cars making 850 on pure pump and no nitrous.
It does seem that most vid's Ive seen of those cars on the street are a bit disappointing. Ive seen some fast ones at the track on slicks, but on the street I just dont see them running that impressively for the power and cost (and hype.)

Last I thought that GT500 made more than that..

. On a side note you guys have to understand how TIM tunes those Blower cars.. The inlet temps start going up and it will pull timing.. Lets not forget that those blowers get hot quick..lol.. If I was to guess that car in the race was in the 500 to 550 range, with that GT500 being a tank that might explain getting drug down the road...lol..

that was on pure pump, the car ran 9.70s at low 140s if i remember right, ill try to find the article on it.

I'm almost sure Kenny Bell made 800whp on 93... It was in a Mag not to long ago...

just because you spray the intercooler with nitrous doesn't mean it's not going to find it's way in the engine. Most of the cars are setup all out on the blowers... spraying nitrous is only adding fuel to the fire... BOOOOM snapp pop... cheapo Wal-mart fordged cobra piston!

Those runs looked very simular to the ones that Lank and I had awhile back. BTW From the looks of things that vid looked like it was shot in my neck of the woods? I would love to run that gt500.
