Is that on pump, pump + meth or race fuel? A lot of people dont want to deal with race gas or meth injection. I dont know of any smallblock cars making 850 on pure pump and no nitrous.

Last I thought that GT500 made more than that.. . On a side note you guys have to understand how TIM tunes those Blower cars.. The inlet temps start going up and it will pull timing.. Lets not forget that those blowers get hot quick..lol.. If I was to guess that car in the race was in the 500 to 550 range, with that GT500 being a tank that might explain getting drug down the road...lol..

Glad I'll never have to worry about that again.

Why dont the SC stangs put a small shot on there to compensate for this heatsoaking issue?

Tuners.... I said something when I worked at Modular about running NOS or Meth to cool the inlet temps, I only know of one car from Modular with Meth.. Its a Mach 1 and a 1.7 KB... Its a really good idea but Tim does not like the idea cause there is really no fail safe w/meth.. I'm sure if the idea keeps floating around the shop they will end up doing more to cool the blower down..

I wonder which car that is? Hmm, I need to find him.

They have more tools to help with that now that can pull boost and or timing if they system doesn't activate.

Talking The 2 things that matter are.....!

The funny thing is that the efficiency of the GT500 set-up.... There is one thing to do X horsepower at the dyno and then see the GT500 in a real life senario.

Also I will bet anything that Lankhoss car will come 150lbs short if we put the 2 cars in a scale...

I am sure it will be more than 150lbs. Knowing that the GT500 weighs in at like 3825lbs. Lankhoss vette is nice though, when I get my new car maybe we can run.

    Thanks guys,

That GT500 was probably closer to 4,000 lbs with those 20" wheels. They're 3850 or 3920 depending on the options (stereo setup, etc).

I think he was making ~640 on the street dyno that night - considering how Brad and Thrust seemed to be pretty even with Thrust's ~605 RWHP and the '03/'04 weighs 3665 lbs. That's a pretty significant difference in weight - takes a lot of HP to still hang with that ~335 lbs extra.

Tim does tune so the ECU starts pulling timing a bit sooner than a lot of other tuners, I believe it's 130* F for Tim and usually 150* for most others, including mine.

I think Brad weighed in at 3110 on the scale at Reynolds - the catted X-pipe and headers saved some weight - forget what fuel load that was with.

There you have it.... the extra HP of the GT500 didn't help, but the efficiency of the raw N/A power over power the FI set-up.

    501whp / 3110Lbs = 0.161 ratio

    Vs.

    640whp / 4000Lbs = 0.16 ratio

I think the GT500 had to be over 4000 or Lankhoss car is lighter.

I'm almost sure Kenny Bell made 800whp on 93... It was in a Mag not to long ago...
