The owner of that car found out he wasn't making as much as he thought, the next week after getting his car fixed, he beat the Z06.

Mind you he was using a T66 fetus eater if im not mistaken. I'm not doubting the C6Z06 at all, I know those cars are porn for most car enthusiasts hell me included. If I see that 505 HP badge, i'm slinging yogurt at their window.

I am the owner of the Z06. I registered on here when I had my 04 Viper, hence the name.

Anyway, I am not sure where you are getting your info from, but that is completely NOT true. I raced that 350Z about 5x, and the only time he beat me is when I let him (put it in the wrong gear and had a passenger). That 350Z owner got a new exhaust system and a retune, and we will be reracing again soon while capturing it on tape. Once the race takes place, I will report back with the video.

It is a fast car, but it will take a 350Z some serious power to out run a stock C6 Z06..

Ahh gotcha, the owner of the 350Z posted that info a while ago on my350z, along with the video, which is why I had already seen it. I tried digging up the thread, but I believe it was deleted with the rest of the street racing forums. Now we only have *legal* racing forums on MY350Z forums. I assume maybe he took your missed shift as the win he reported.

No doubt the Z06 is a monster, at all. It would take a Z a large amount of work to fight with one, a whole lot more whp and tq then the Z06 needs to do the job. Which dollar per performance is a lot of money to make that Z compete at all. Speaking of, you had an 04 SRT 10? Those were the newer style ones right? A friend of a buddy has an 05 or 06 SRT10 Viper which year I can't remember and has beaten a couple of C6 Z06's and a couple of exotics. Was wondering then why you switched out for the Z06? Just overall more power or does it get the power down to the ground more handily, since that Viper came stock with beefy 300+ series tires.

I didn't miss a shift, I put the car in the wrong gear. We went from a 65/70 and I put it in third gear instead of second intentionaly to give the guy a chance and see what would happen. He pulled on me a bit until my rpms started climbing up, and just as I was about to pass he shut down..lol. It's all good.

I got out of the Viper and into the Z06 because the Z06 is a much better overall car, and not to mention it is quicker/faster too than the 03-06 Vipers..

We were side by side at 65/70 mph on the expressway. While he was next to me, I downshifted to third gear. I should have downshifted to second gear, but decided to downshift to third instead. While I am in third gear with a passenger and he is in his sweet spot, we honked it off and both took off on three honks. When we took off on the third honk, he was able to pull ahead of me for a bit due to my car ot being near its powerband. Once my rpms started climbing up into my powerband, I started to reel him in and I was getting ready to pass him. As soon as I got to his door and ready to pass, he shutdown and quit racing.
