I can definitely survive without it, but I've been waiting on a device like this that bridges the gap between Apples baby 13.3" laptop and the 480 x 320 iPhone. It's too hard to use Ereader apps on the iPhone and too gaudy to carry a laptop at all times. Once again, Steve Jobs has upped the ante for the technological world.
If you want an Ereader, why not just GET an Ereader? Kindle, Sony.. all are portable Ereaders at HALF the Apple's cost.
