W12 Nardo, correct? Beautiful car... it's unfortunate it's still a concept. But it has been basis for the W12 motor, no?

I hate working on Vdubs... They are a pain in the arse...

Haha, the OG Hot Hatch?
The W12 was a sad stillbirth...too bad they didn't make it. Actually, it may have flopped for the same reason the Pheaton did. "It's still a Volkswagen."
That's insane though. I don't like the body work.
However, the W engines are impressive engineering.
this is what the VW GTi reminds me of (well, the one I posted)

i agree,if it said Audi or Lamo it would be sellingOriginally Posted by VooDooXII

thats badass
The Scirocco...?
I heard they were making it but not bringing it to the US...and then reconsidering.
It'll hit here... at least, it should... look at it! why wouldn't it come here?Originally Posted by VooDooXII
on another note, and completely off the topic of VW... did you hear about the new Civic Type R that might make it's way stateside?

it's just a concept, but it looks pretty good... and I believe they are gonna start selling them in Europe...

Because it's awesome? How many truly desireable cars make it over to the US? Not nearly as many as we'd like...but maybe some of the appeal is in the fact that we can't have them.Originally Posted by ubers2k

i want a FTO,but they neve made it to the US
true... and if we do get the cars, they are detuned because of our emissions n shit.. oh well...
I'm out... work's gonna be a bitch tomorrow. joy. later guys.

I like Alfa Romeos too...
Oh, I could go on for days.
The European car market is slowly making its way over here though...via Saturn and such.

They won't, atleat not any time soon. All it is is a GTI with a different body on it. The GTIs are selling so good over here they don't want to fuck it up. But in the next year the new GTIs are gettin ghte Euro Spec suspension (.5'' shorter) and the DSGs are getting launch controll. I also heard they are getting more power.Originally Posted by Jecht
The Phaeton is an amazing car and If you can afford one I would get one. You can pick up a W12 with 30k on it for like 35-40 grand that is a year or two old. Thats not bad for a cor with a 110k sticker price. I have driven both v8 and v12 Phaetons and they are both amazing cars.
For those of you who are still hippies, they are bringing back the Eurovan. It wil be based on the Chrysler but have VW drivetrains.
The phaeton is still made in europe and sells well.
So basically, we're getting the Euro-spec options now.
No doubt the Phaeton is a great car. People just don't accept that Volkswagen building a high class luxury car. The interior is interesting...there are wooden covers on the vents, and 24 way adjustable seats. I can't imagine what you could possibly adjust. I really want to see how that W12 feels...must be incredibly smooth.
I'm more interested in the Touareg V10 TDi though. I think it has all the luxury of a Phaeton, and that engine is a killer...and extremely efficient for a V10.

The W12 puts you back in the seat nice and firm and that feeling does not fade.....at all. You barely have to touch the throttle at all around town and through parking lots. Parking it is like parking a fucking boat. Putting one between a two post lift is fun. I have not yet driven the V10 Tourag. I have drven the 8 and it is badass. I heard the V10 is a monster. We actually get more Phaetons than V10 Tourags in the shop.Originally Posted by VooDooXII
is it the Carrea GT V10 in the Tourags?
Nope, the Touareg's is a 5.0 Liter Turbo-Diesel V10. It puts down a bit over 300 bhp, but more importantly, 550 lb.ft. of torque!Originally Posted by HypnoToad
It also gives amazing mileage for its size. 17 in the city and 23 on the highway...which isn't bad for a 5000 lb. SUV...and not bad at all for a V10 anything.
They took it off the market soon after the release itself though, because of emissions issues. Volkswagen's working on this and re-releasing the engine on the upcoming Touareg.
That engine's also available in the Euro-spec Pheaton.
