honeslty the bill of sale wont hold up. used parts are sold as is, if you had any reservations about buying a motor and needed it to be perfect you should have had it checked out by pulling the oil pan.
YOu can spend money taking him to court but you will lose.
He is absolutely right he cannot warranty a motor you have had for months because he doesnt know if you cranked it up without oil, redlined it , whatever. only he knows if hes a shady seller or not.
Its called BUYER BEWARE, you should have checked it out, you should have inspected it thoroughly
