thanks man, well it's not mine haha. it was given to my girlfriend's dad as a gift from his company on their annual company trip. it's insane, they went on a two week vacation to hawaii this year, and he was given this lens as part of the trip. i was so happy i got to try it out, i've always wanted to use one.

what have you been up to lately?

Making money man, haha. Seriously, after my promotion, I got a new apartment and have been busy with that. Things are slowly starting to slow down thank goodness. I hope to be out at more meets, and start shooting more photos for fun. I miss it. Ill probably be bringing back another forum sometime in the near future, not just for Nikon Users specifically. Primarily because I maybe investing in a 1d in the near future.

Late afternoon sun was behind me, the first time i tried to shoot it was a couple weeks ago and mid morning with sun was behind the waterfall...the actual falls was dark and shadowed and the top was blown out with lens flares everywhere. This time I went up there not knowing how much battery i had left and ended up pulling of 6 shots before it died, with this one being the first of those 6 haha.

Thanks! nope, was on a rock in the middle of the water -- don't ask me how i got the tripod to stand on it, haha. The water in front of the falls is at least waist deep, i'm tempted to take a couple reflectors up there and try shooting someone in it...

Nice. I bet the water is just about peanut penis cold too, huh?

I was reading the other day that they just came out with some new style of reflectors that can be held with just one hand. They are more like a tear drop shape than round. They look pretty cool and useful.

But if you need any volunteers to help you with reflectors and nakid women under waterfalls, I'm sure Rush and I can make the sacrifice.....right Rush?

lol, that water comes out of the mountain a few miles north of that spot, i've hiked it all ....soo yeah, you can imagine how "nipply" it is. (actually walked most of it in the water because i was trying to be quiet to catch some animals, haha...i might as well have been an airboat in a swamp because i kept stumbling in the creek and making more noise then if i was walking on dry leaves)

There's an insanely sweet camping spot about a 10 minute hike north of it (there's 4 falls in a row)...it's a meadow like penisula of ferns with the creek going around it. Heard a few deer snorting but no sign of people, foot traffic, not a single piece of trash, etc. Pretty much as isolated as you'll get and being the hottest part of the day suprisingly had no bugs...

Ummm, so I'm going retract my previous offer in order to make a new one......I would DEFINETLY volunteer to hold some reflectors for a nakid woman under the falls and then giant camp-out outing......

Sounds like a very cool area. It's hard to find pristine areas like that anymore. The only time I ever get to camp-out in anywhere near quiet woods is when I go hunting, and even then sometimes you're certainly not all alone.

    Very cool find.

One of my good friends. Just as we got ready to shoot it started raining so had to head back to the studio but managed to snap a couple before we left.

Deep in the dangerous woods of the North Georgia mountains one of America's most ferocious wild animals, caught in action as it was stalking it's prey...
