Same here. I missed a 6:45pm flight because I was at the gate at 6:30pm and there was no attendant at the desk. She came out 15 minutes later and said she put me on the stand-by list 5 minutes earlier....but i've been standing at her computer for 15 minutes?!! I've been on AirTran several times and seen people get on board AFTER the departure time yet I was at the gate staring at the plane 15 minutes before it was to leave. BS.

ha, I went home to take a shower and then went back to the airport at midnight because I knew I didn't want to wake up at 4am to catch the 6am flight the following morning.

Thinking I would just nap at the gate I arrive and there is a MILLION people there...the worlds largest slumber party, lol! Christmas music is blasting(wtf?), floor polishers and buffers cleaning every square inch between the people, construction crews running everywhere...all the way until 5am. Ended up chilling in the corner for 4 hours with 2 hotties going back to Ft. Lauderdale so of course didn't get any sleep.

By the time I got off the plane I had been up for 24 hours, got to Miami, and ventured around the town for 12 hours...within one hour of hitting south beach I saw 4 turbo Porsches, two GT2's, 4-5+ Rolls & Bentleys, couple Aston Martins, handful of Lamborghini's, lost count of the Ferrari's...in just the first hour. Finally went to sleep around hour 42 or so lol.
