Thanks, gents for the pointers. I saw the place and had to take a few pics, yes, I know rookie, but I will soon get myself some more items to go along with the camera. How'd you know it was a Canon? I talked to you previously about it when I made the thread about which to get. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction to assist me in learning this camera too.

rather than invest in equipment buy this....

learning your camera will help more than equipment at this point for you. also go to your local library and check out some of the newer photography basics books.
That bridge is prettaaaay!
Goods pics, but def could use some work! Good start though! Way better than I could do! haha
I would say since it seems like you wanted everything to be in sharp focus you shoot around f/8 and not f/5.6. If you focus on the car(or let the camera focus) and shoot at f/5.6 some or all of the bridge is not going to be sharp.
On some of the photos it appears that the camera did not focus on the car because the car is soft.

As said tripod be a good solution here. Then you can shoot ISO 100 or 200 and lose some of the grain and get a really sharp photo![]()

LOL, thanks. I was trying to get the car more than anything but loved the bridge background and lighting. I actually used the night portrait mode, LOL. Not any particular speed. But I will try another couple shots maybe tonight before they tae the lights down. I head to Orlando tomorrow too.....

Biggest things you will need to learn is how to position your subject and how to use a tripod. Settings you will need to play around with and see what works best for the situation you are shooting in as there is no "set" standard for shooting.Originally Posted by ultm8mind

Thanks bro, but shit these cameras are kinda intimidating, LOL. I don't want to set it to something and not be able to get it out of that setting. I actually bought the camera because as I was leaving Europe, I hit up Amsterdam, Paris and Italy and wanted "nicer" pics to remember the places by. But also, I take one pic, then it leads to 20-30 at a time. I am no pro, but hope to get better with everyones assistance. Once again, thanks guys...

Damn bro, I drove through there this week. Well south on 95, I blew my engine when I got here to Orlando. Blew the head gasket, hydro-locked it, and then broke at least one rod. Tell me about a shitty time bro, it is going to hurt the damn pockets fo real......
