i wouldn't actually carry it but if you're just plinking or keeping it for home defense then good pickup.

Yea the gun laws are getting stricter and i imagine will only continue that way, unless you really travel into some rough areas i wouldn't carry. There are way too many shades of gray these days on it and stuff that can go wrong and get pinned on you.
But for home defense, you def can't go wrong with the shotgun, no one is gonna **** with you when they see that, and if they do you have a lot lower chance of missing...![]()

glock 23. all the way.
I am guessing that is a 9mm, Lmao I hope that isn't home protection. Thats something I would carry daily. When I think of home protection I think of AR-15 etc........
i don't get why ppl say this all the time. how easy is it to fit a shotgun or an ar under your pillow or on your nightstand?Originally Posted by twinj

To me it says if you don't have a permit but are elidgable to get one you can have a pistol in plain view or a glove box in your car, but if you have a permit you can put it anywhere.Originally Posted by twinj
Then again I am not a lawyer or a politician.
The way the law is written now, with the passage of HB89, a person with a permit may have a locked, loaded and ready to go firearm anywhere in their vehicle as long as their GFL is on their person. Someone without may ONLY have a firearm in a covered/lockable area of their car ie. Console, glove box, etc. It may be loaded, technically, although if it's visible the law is ambiguous as to whether or not it must be stored separately from the ammunition or not. Also note that you must be able to legally possess the firearm in the state in which you have it. IE if you're 18, you may TRANSPORT a handgun legally, but it must be locked and separate from the ammo.Originally Posted by koukis14

i believe even when you do have a permit, your firearm must have the clip out and away from said firearm.

with the passing of hb89, anyone who can legally own a handgun can have it anywhere in their car. no longer is it restricted to only the glovebox or a similar compartment...
I have been pulled over numerous times with my gun loaded with 1 in the chamber, as long as the gun is not under the seats or in between the seats your gonna be ok! glove box, passenger seat, dash, center console are all ok, just let the officer kno wen they get to the car, they will take the gun and run the numbers and as long as its clean its all good

The Hi-Point is decent little starter pistol. It will run hollow points with a polished feed ramp. It has a lifetime warranty so it will always be fixed for free and the service is almost unmatche din the industry. The gun is heavy for it's size and does not conceal well. It is a great plinker, truck/boat gun. Something to get as a backup hidden somewhere in the home. I would not carry it as a primary weapon.
To the guy who thinks an Ar-15 is better for home protection then a handgun. Are you trying to hold off a group of armed individuals? Have you ever tried to clear a dark house with an AR? A handgun is much easier to use within the home with much less chance of overpenetration into your neighbor's bedroom. If you want real home protection get a 18.5" shotgun. Ever seen what a slug does to it's target? 00 buck would be ideal, and 9 pellets to the chest will not allow them to get away.
If you want to learn the real gun laws in GA visit either one of these sites.
