Regardless, there is no signs up IN THE PARKING LOT that state no skateboarding. It is only written INSIDE OF THE MALL. I know alot of people that skate around that area and have never set foot inside of the mall. Until I see a sign outside that says NO SKATEBOARDING, I think I'll take my chances and make them post it up where it should be: IN THE PARKING LOT.

I bet there is no sign saying "No sex in the car" either, but I doubt you'd take your chances with that as well....

Even though they had signs inside that said no skating anywhere other than the designated area, they still had the decency to post up signs outside and in the court-yard area that also state no skateboarding. Considering Simon Malls bought out Discover Mills, maybe they will take the time to post up and make it more known.

They said that the security guy told them hat I was driving reckelssly, and I was on camera "doing graffitti"??? WTF! After I told them that I was just waiting on my "friend" to come and pick something up from me, the then notified me that I was loitering. After that, it was pretty much down hill. THey started to search my car, and when I asked him if he had a warrent he took it was back talk and towed my car, and then the rent-a-cop showed up and tool my picture and made me sign a notice that informed me of my LIFETIME BAN from Discover Mills.

And the other one, "EMOcop" as we called him... we got pretty tight, so they let A LOT slide. haha

but any how yeah, its mainly for liability reasons, They don't know to what degree you're "skateboarding" they can't allow "a little" skateboarding.... Because how would they quantify it? Someone would just be like "well he's skateboarding, so will I" etc etc. They have to enforce zero tolerance, because any type of sport like that in general is an insurance liability, anything can happen, their equipment can get damaged, people can get hurt, customers can find it unprofessional. But yeah honestly the company I ran got in a few run ins with them all you have to do is talk to the head (i believe his name is Richard Morrow) or something, talk to him one on one, just appologize, be straight up and he'll explain WHY you can't do it. When my buddies and I leave the slot car track up there during the weekday at night, the security always comes to us with their little SUV with green lights and tells us to make it quick and leave.

At one point they thought we were going to try and steal my buddy's car, a 993 turbo, because we were eyeing closely. We went along with it and in the end my buddy unlocked the car and we all got a laugh out of it. From then on, that specific guy always comes by and chats for a little bit. Well hey, at least you know they watch out the cars when they can.

The bottom line is that they are just doing their jobs, like you and I are doing our jobs. Don't take offense in it. They work for the mall and you're on their turf.
