Unfortunately, this is what happens when young people play games.
I don't mean to sound harsh, but BOTH of you are/were playing games. Right now it seems he's playing more than you are, but it sounds like at some point or another each were playing.
I'm not meaning any disrespect towards anyone because I don't know either one of you personally, but......you can't treat "feelings" like they're the mange or chicken pox. You either have them or you don't, and you have to act accordingly. If you don't, that message needs to be conveyed loud and clear especially to men.
We are simple creatures. You have to sometimes bash us over the head (nicely though) to get your point into our heads. If you don't like him like a BF, then don't ACT/BEHAVE/HINT/VIBE like you are. Otherwise we WILL assume we are and thereby act accordingly.....emotions, jealousy, demanding time, exclusivety, etc.
Women like things done a little different....ala crystal ball style..Some of the hints you guys give are not hints to us. Sometimes just acting nice means you wanna jump our bones, when really you probably meant to just be nice. Sometimes acting all distant is supposed to be a sign for us to give chase because you're feeling a little needy and want to affirm we care. Whatever the case, we are creatures different than you are. Hence why playing games is a dangerous proposition because you will easily be misunderstood.
Not trying to be an ass, but yall should've been more direct about the situation. If his family is calling you his "novia", yet you don't wanna be.....that's where you should've said something to him. If you wanted to, you should've said something too. That way he can't act like a jerk like he is now.
Well the thing is that I am iffy about feelings b/c I was in a relationship for 5yrs that ended badly, he was in a relationship of 4yrs that ended badly...Both our significant others cheated...I didnt want to be his rebound...I really do/did like him...I still do...I would have loved to be his girlfriend...Like I said....I cant say anything bad about him...I do agree that we are both to blame...Me for playing games in the beginning and then letting my guard down....I am not upset by what you have written...For the most part it is correct...After reading your chain of events:

I see the same thing all the time. People carry, sometimes understandably so, with them the bitterness of previous relationships.
You have to understand that it undermines your current relationships if you keep carrying that old cross. If you're not ready to put it down, just be aware of the fact that you will be limited as to how far your new dealings will go.
