Default Top Gear: Power Lap List

I've posted this in a few other threads but I threw in prices w/ the top 54 rides on the list so you can see what the top rides are + best bang for buck

Honestly my top picks are: Z06, Evo, STI, & R32...

    - Z06 ranks 15 and for 65k you can't beat that the avg car in that range is well over 2x the price of the vette

    - Evo only 6 secs behind the vette for 1/2 the price AMAZING!!!

    - STI & R32 have very close times and are some of the cheapest rides in the Top 50

    - Interesting the M3 runs same time as 350z and RX8

    - Oh ya honarble mention for the Porsche Caymen cheaper then the Z06, 4 secs slower, but is hot as shit

The other question is which were tested in the dry and which in the wet? I think if it was an all wet or all dry list then the rankings would be different.

Long stories behind each. It's like with the 911 turbo. It was done in a VERY wet condition (I have the video to prove it). It was raining so hard that you could barely see. They said that the 911 turbo should be in the mid 120s on a dry day, but oh well (video to prove that as well).

You can and can't take those times seriously. If you want REAL times, look at the Nurburgring times.

The 911 turbo ran in the pouring down wet, although that board doesn't list it (odd, it used to and I have the video of the 911 turbo doing the test in the pouring down rain). That just goes to show you how the times can vary.

you are correct sir, they don't list on the list on the TOP GEAR site about track conditions, but they do mention them in the review write up if i'm not mistaken... now here is the compiled list w/ track conditions below:

Note: The following laps were clocked with the tested vehicle configured for maximum performance. That is to say, all adjustable suspensions were set at their most efficient, all gear shift maps were at their most aggressive, and driving aids such as traction control were deactivated. These lap times do not offer entirely reliable comparisons between the cars - the conditions are far from controlled.

Still off. They gave it a "2" for wet. I assure you that it was a "3" for VERY wet. Just look at the pictures in the link. Heck, I have the video where it is raining so hard that it is difficult to see the track. Then again, we know how biased Jeremy is against the 911...

Stop being so GREEDY Porsche is already the Top Manufacture on there ; no one else comes close with the amount of rides they got on every top list.

i have to agree on the track conditions....it was rather horrendous (sp?) out...and yes Clarkson tends to not like the 911 very much...but he did love the 997 carrera (after he mocked it...till no end)...

He concedes it has great performance in his written review of the new 911, but according to him it lacks soul that many other cars, namely italian, have.
