I mean damn man. I know people don't get on here like they used to but, one reply to a thread in 24 hours is pretty damn bad and sad lol.

Plus not many people can relate to a 23 year old thread... I mean... You bumped a thread about Myspace? What did you think was going to happen?

Lol MySpace used to be the shit. I got a lot of pussy by using it back in the day hahaha. The thread wasn't that old seriously. I also posted in some new threads and still no reply. Nothing like it used to be back in the day on here. You used to get ten replies in under a minute easy.

Myspace is like limp bizkit..... we all know we loved that shit..... but for some reason it became trendy to make fun of it.

in 2003-2005 we were all rocking out to LB and banging random girls from myspace. Dont be ashamed of your roots!

Well light 'em up, let's make it a memorable ride.

In all seriousness though, I hope people can laugh and make jokes at my expense when I die. Life is meant to be lived, make it enjoyable and make it memorable, I don't want people standing around talking about how good of a life I lived, I want people to talk about how they wished they could have enjoyed life as much as I did. We can all crack jokes about the rice fest that is F&F but the fact is most of us have seem them all, and enjoyed them, and if I had to hazard a guess I'd bet he had a pretty good time making them. Condolences to his family and friends, I know it's a tough time for them, but its abundantly clear that he was loved, and loved what he did, as an actor and as a man.

I never understood why death is such a taboo topic, especially for a culture that is predominantly religious and believes that death is the gate to another life.

Me personally, i'd rather die from flipping my motorcycle off the side of a mountain than in a hospital bed old and sick. I hope my friends do burn outs at my funeral and toast shots to my memory. We're all gonna die.... no need to be babies about it.

I just look it at slightly different, 3 months ago, me and four other friends were hanging out at the Chattahoochee River and one of my friends drowned right in front of us. There isn't a day I do not think about the accident or my friend. Yes by all means live your life to the fullest, life is very short.

If i had to put my finger on it...... the gap between this forum and some of the forums that appear to have infinite staying power, is information. Some of the nissan and rx7 forums are libraries of information about car building.

This forum has a good number of people that have a great deal of knowledge about car building, but unfortunately, most people dont view this forum as a place to come ask those type of questions. This is viewed more of a hangout spot / local event planner.

The problem with social network forums like this one is that they've basically been killed off by Facebook, etc.

Only the real tight-knit local forums have survived, and when IA had it's issues, it couldn't have happened at a worse time. Not to mention, a lot of forum 'regulars' from the early 2000's when the scene was huge have either grown up and moved on, or just keep close connections with their good friends from the old days and don't bother with the BS that the new crowd has brought in.

At least that's my take on it.

    Yeah, that's true.......

but i feel like i've been having that same argument for over 10 years now. I remember everyone complaining about ricers, young kids and the crap the "new crowd" brought in back when fast and furious 1 was still in the movie theaters.

Look at a place like nicoclub.... that forum never falls off. I'm sure those people know about facebook too.

People are always going to bitch about the new crowd.

With that in mind, the stance movement is the worst thing to ever happen to the import scene. Buncha posers. I'd take neon lights, cotton stuffed in wheel wells and mirrors in the hood ANY DAY over this crowd of losers that claim to be "down with the scene".

Alas...former 240 owner. I hung up my Nissan spurs and got into a true muscle car.

    (It's a Pontiac, BTW)

But yeah, I have no love for the stance crowd. At all. Stretching tires beyond what the drifters do is unsafe and hideous. I'm ok with rim tuck, as long as it doesn't take -5 degrees of camber to get there. I had 275's stuffed into my rear fenders with no pulling. It's amazing what can be done when you actually know how to properly pick the offset for your car.

    I hate you......

I looked for the vents that go with the aero bumper for like 3 years and never found them. It emotionally scarred me for life.

I had a slower fall from grace than most.

I went from this (fuck the 240 crowd btw... not all... 99% are douches but the remaining 1% are the coolest guys you'll ever meet)

to this (I'll buy another one day... Regret getting rid of it)

    to this

until I came to my senses and went to this. Working A/C, heated seats and a Cadillac ride thanks to well-worn shocks. Should have given in to the dark side years ago

However, I still have this in garage waiting on suspension and floorboards... Also so I can retain my car-guy card in good standing.

I do miss my car at times...but like you said, man. The 240 community just ain't what it used to be.

    Prepare yourself for this...

I knew a local guy that had the Aero bumper for YEARS on his flat black SOHC hatch. Wouldn't come off of it, so I just kept in touch with him via PM's to remind him that I wanted to be first in line if he ever sold it. He finally ended up moving to Korea, and a few weeks before he did, he sent me a message and asked if I wanted to trade. I got a mint condition Aero bumper, uncut, all the vents in trade for my standard K's bumper, pignose lip and $100.

Steal of the damn century, he knew it, and was completely cool with it.

PS, is it bad I knew yours was an Aero front from that back end/side shot? I got too involved with these cars, for real.

At least the ricers in the 90's/early 2000s would run their cars down the drag strip at NOPI events, even if they weren't trapping 80mph, haha.

Goodfuckinluck getting any of those stance kids to line up at IFO. Big turbo for the hell of it on a stock LS/VTEC with -5 degrees of camber on shitty ass steel wheels. Ugh, I need to stop.
