I was just giving an old head respecting Eminem as the lyricist he is. I strongly believe he's a living legend
Anyone listened to Kendrick Lamar? finally got to listening to his first album, reminds me alot of Aquemini album..i also dont remember anyone mentioning Outkast..

Oh ok. I thought you were trying to "prove" that no one in any generation wants to battle Fem. And you're entitled to your "opinion," my friend.
That's because they aren't the G.O.A.T. In the South, though, I would definitely put them at (or near) the top. Pretty much well ahead of anyone.

I'll be honest and say I agree with the dude. I've felt that since he first came on. And as hard as it is to believe, I'm white, lolol.
I think he could be in the Top 10, but he didn't live long enough to keep putting out quality material. But again, Top 10 for sure.

How is Jeezy teh worse?! I never said he was lyrical, everything he says, he just says it, there's no metaphors, he's just pretty much speaking his mind on what he's done in his past and relevant things going on in teh world...like his recession album was a good album. i'm not saying he's a GOAT, but where he's at, he's a helluvalot better than the 'club music' being put out nowadays

Pretty much everything points the worst. His delivery stands out to me. He sounds terrible. It's hard to understand anything he says. He's just terrible. And of course he might be better than today's stuff because hip hop as has been getting progressively worse every year.
Hell, today's rap has me liking the music genre "deathcore." Now this is good stuff:

You dig?

Not hardly. Name one rapper who hasn't used the word "nigga" and still goes 63763637272737 platinum. White or black he would be the shit. Giving he is white it makes it even that Much better. There is not one rapper out there today as creative yet lyrically complex as eminem in my own opinion.

Slaughterhouse tends to have the same style now that he is around em alot which should blow his career up. Look at 50 cent...made shit tons of hard core music now he's so rich he makes super homo love music. Only one rapper can make love music sound good and thats luda

Lolol. Exactly why the white people are his main followers. It's always been that way. You are one of the people in that crowd. White people are who made Feminem as big as he got because he is white.
Lolol. You love you some Feminem, huh? If you agree with the "every generation" part, you're clearly not in the know about the history of hip hop, dude.

strong OPINION you speak..i'd like to hear of who you think w/ a couple of possible links to their music as to why you think there's a few that cant touch Eminem...truthfully right now...Yela and Slaughterhouse are the only ones w/ the crazy mind mentality to come at Em the wrong way..and truthfully..only Joell and Yelawolf are the only ones that could bring competition to him..of this generational hip hop
i think i agree w/ this..seeing as though i've heard about the same amount of music from both artist. i didnt hear much punchlines from BIG....just straight talk, like Jeezy. Pun was more complex than BIG imo..from the little bit i've heard.

Meh... I know it's anecdotal. But this past weekend I had to make a 7 hour car ride to attend my grandma's funeral. Had the iPod on shuffle, Biggie came up... Skip (other than hypnotize). Big Pun came up and I was like "damn I forgot how good he was" and listened to every song.
Again, it means nothing. Neither are the GOAT.

Lolol. So BET is the determiner of who is best alive. I got you. The "I go through daily" routine, huh? Lolol. You got me.
You know what? I'm going to step out of this. Cop out? To you guys, probably. To me, arguing with younger folks about hip hop is pointless. They only know of what they grew up on and (usually) nothing else. They don't realize the full spectrum and don't care to learn about it, either. All they want to do is proclaim their allegiances to whomever they've latched on to. There's a several factors as to why a G.O.A.T. is an opinion only subject.
Y'all have a good one. Seriously. No love lost for either of you, homeys.

I wont deny a bias for this reason. Anytime a person of your own color breaks into a realm where they are not usually prevalent, it is natural and normal to "pull for them". Even though i dont sit around thinking "man, i wish there were more white rappers" , when eminem first came about, him being white made him more interesting. The same as a black nfl QB, its not the "norm" so its natural for black people to wish them well or pull for them. I personally dont see a problem with this on this scale. Acknowledging Em's white bias also doesnt erase his accomplishments or volume of content.

Em may have brought other audiences, but to true hip hop heads, color doesnt matter. i'm calling Eminem a monster with lyrics. i mean...it's hard to top the guy IMHO. for the people that think him being white is what catipulated himself to being at the top, i think they're wrong, including Em (he referred to his skin as allowing him to be where he's at in closet track)

When Eminem came out, nothing else sounded anything like him..... it wasnt a white thing either.... he didnt sound white.... he just sounded off the wall crazy.
Vanilla ice sounds white. Eminem sounded like he was from another planet.

im surprised nobody has mentioned him yet......... but how can we leave this guy off the list. Another one of rap's unique artists.

Has no one mentioned Lupe Fiasco yet?

I just heard a couple tracks off of Kendrick's new album. Might have to be the first album I've bought in a while

i like the vibe of it...way different of a flow than anything i've heard..i still have to LISTEN to the lyrics though. my mind has been going from one thing ot hte other lately to pay it any attention.
one SLEPT on newcomer is Big Sean too...he's like the perfect blend of rap and hip hop all in one

Damn QD, i could not have said it better myself, lol, i know a bunch of white kids that know -35646854555454 about rap, but they think Em is the best.
and if you dont think Notorious BIG is good with lyrics, you need to do some research,
yeah, Em is sick when he wants to, like when he first came out his crap was SICK, but his latest, im dont see the quality lyrics he is know for, Royce was sick back then too, his latest....... not so nice
like this old one, this is one of my favorite songs of all time, VERY LYRICS HEAVY!!!

i can easily say Jadakiss>Eminem, and yes i have heard enough lyrics from both of them to make that statement, and i know a bunch of raphead black people that agree with me
