with the miles, honda would normally cover the rack but seeing how the rack was damaged due to it hitting something on road and not going out due to wear and tear or time honda will not cover it. It like hitting a pot hole and you bent your rim, honda will not cover it cause you could have avoided the pot hole. Like I said, honda care can be a bunch of dicks. What you could do is if they wont cover it go back to the dealer you were at and ask for assistance. What this will do is honda care will pay a certain amount and you pay a certain amount, usually its a 50-50 split. so the up side is that you wont be paying full price on the part but I dont know what they would do about the labor, seeing that i work in parts. Some time honda care wont give assistance but it wont hurt to try.

why do you keep saying Honda Care, he is still under factory warranty. Honda Care is the extended warranty they dont have anything to do untill it hits warranty cancel date. And once that hits it is easy to take care of them if you know how to word the claim.

But back to the original topic ask for assistance it will go through Mark Depeatro(sp) he will approve or deny the claim or you can bypass and call Honda direct and get a claim going with them.
