Anyone a service advisor at a dealership by any chance?
Anyone a service advisor at a dealership by any chance?
You can sorta call me that. I do pretty much everything they do.
Nope, but I talk to mine like 189813784963 times a day, if there is something you would like to know.

Well heres the deal i was at honda today getting some warranty work done. And they replaced my wheel bearing that was damaged through warranty, however they wont replace my power steering rack through warranty. It still works fine but not 100% so i want it replaced, it got slightly damaged as well, just wondering why they would replace one and not the other.
it all depends, how many miles are on the car? whats wrong with the rack? how did it get damaged? Honda care who does the warrenty can usually be a bunch of dicks or really cool when it comes to warrenty.
Its got 15.5k miles, 04 accord coupe, i just hit something in the road late at night. I took it to honda carland over at the statebridge/kimball bridge intersection, and they told me the power steering rack is bent and something was wrong with the wheel bearing. The car drives and runs fine its just the steering wheel doesnt fully return after being turned, and its a little harder to turn at lower speeds. So today i took it the the main honda carland and they fixed the wheel bearing thing, but not the steering.
with the miles, honda would normally cover the rack but seeing how the rack was damaged due to it hitting something on road and not going out due to wear and tear or time honda will not cover it. It like hitting a pot hole and you bent your rim, honda will not cover it cause you could have avoided the pot hole. Like I said, honda care can be a bunch of dicks. What you could do is if they wont cover it go back to the dealer you were at and ask for assistance. What this will do is honda care will pay a certain amount and you pay a certain amount, usually its a 50-50 split. so the up side is that you wont be paying full price on the part but I dont know what they would do about the labor, seeing that i work in parts. Some time honda care wont give assistance but it wont hurt to try.
I definitely understand what you're saying. And i can agree with hondas policy on that, but what i don't get is why the wheel bearing was fixed yet it was damaged at the same time as the rack, but the rack won't get fixed. And the wheel bearing wasnt causing any driveability problems unlike the rack. Well its not so much driveability problems as just kind of an annoyance sometimes.
I cant really tell you why the bearing was replaced and not the rack but if I knew the whole story behind what the service advisor, the tech, and warranty talked about I could give you more of an understanding to why one thing was covered and the other wasn't. Like I said take it back or call and see if you can get some type of assistance. I hope this helps.
Yea i'll ask them about the assistance tomorrow, thanks for the help.
why do you keep saying Honda Care, he is still under factory warranty. Honda Care is the extended warranty they dont have anything to do untill it hits warranty cancel date. And once that hits it is easy to take care of them if you know how to word the claim.Originally Posted by TwinyTwin
But back to the original topic ask for assistance it will go through Mark Depeatro(sp) he will approve or deny the claim or you can bypass and call Honda direct and get a claim going with them.
I got your Jeep thing, Now it burns when I pee.
I'm sorry, he is right i keep thinking the car has more miles. even though i read how many miles are on the car. Also Mark Depeatro does power equipment now, the new guy is George, cant remember last name.
they likely replaced the wheel bearing because if they didnt it is possible you would have drove of the lot, lost a wheel and gotten injured. then they would be sued da-da-da.... anyhow you likely have full coverage as its a new car, if you really want to... claim in on you car insurance, they should cover it.
:boobies:
You are lucky you even got the wheel bearing under "warranty." We wouldn't have replaced any of it under warranty if it was due to you hitting something in the road.
