I think paying for your own stuff makes you learn some responsibility... too many kids where I grew up got everything handed to them on a silver platter... I had a dad buying his two sons ages 6 and 7 iPhones yesterday... why does an ELEMENTARY SCHOOLER need an iPhone?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

My parents didn't buy my shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit! lol. I had to get a job and get my own cell phone. First car was a Mazda Navajo, then I got a camry, now I got this bimmer which is now paid off. I think I did pretty good by myself. But when I have kids I'd probably spoil the crap out of them, cuz I know how hard it was getting to where I am now.

Well I need a PDA for school purposes... teachers send out emails too often to be hopping on a computer or carrying a laptop around, but I think if you need it its cool, what is a 7 year old going to do? Watch barney on it?!?!?!?!

Johns Creek.... what are you thinking?!

I wouldn't call it stalking, but I will call it pathetic. Okay, the one thread you made knocking her.... funny. However you keep beating a dead horse in the ground. So what if the thread coincidently came up in your search, why make another thread about it?

Most people just try to cover up shit...

Im sure the reason I wasnt given a car or was spoiled was because my parents were below middle class. I was a poor kid.. shit, Im still poor..

What is one of the most common things complainers or people that always say, I was never given a car when I was a kid or I wasnt spoiled.. They always say, when I have a kid, i will give them everything..

    People just need to stfu...

Most people now a days who were raised below middle class, for the most part always complain about people that were/are spoiled as kids.

But when those kids that were not spoiled growing up finally reach adulthood always say,

" Once I have kids, I will spoil them "

Some people have a hard time admiting they were raised poor.... they just want to blame the lucky guy.

I was raised poor and still am poor.

It seems more like that Kyoh guy started off with a problem. Mad because this chick lives a more privileged life than him while she goes to school, whereas he had to "drop out and work 60 hr weeks". =/, fucking cry baby.

She definitely made a mistake posting her pic in the thread, but meh, noob mistake.

I didn't read past the first page, these "ownage" threads have grown fairly repetitive and troll'ish.

gotcha. i undestand what you mean now. i agree that a number of people who were born without tend to chastise those who give in abundance to their children... and i agree that some of these will, in turn, spoil their children if they make a good life for themselves... and this can be seen as hypocrisy.. but, i don't hold this against them... it is tough saying no to your children and not every parent is up to the task...

luckily, i don't have that problem... no children.

the subject of that sentence was saying no to your children being hard and that being the problem... not that having children was a problem...which is what i am taking away from your post.

You took the wrong thing from my post. It's not really hard to say no to children. I do it multiple times a day to all mine. It's a part of their growing up to learn that there is a limit to what you will/can do for them so that they learn more what to do for themselves. There are no problems in raising a child. There may be hardships. But no problems. Later, QD.

I read this....and once I have kids, I will still spoil the crap out of them. However I will instill the same method I raised myself on. Working your ass off for what you want. You work your ass off, I will get you a cell phone and you will pay some of the bill. My child is expected to bring home A's and B's....you do not get a "treat" for a good report card. Your report card is suppose to be good.

That's when I have kids of course

That's not spoiling. That's teaching your child to work for what he/she has. That's the way parenting should be. My children don't get shit for a good report card. What they DO get is a good education and the start to a better life had they not studied. Later, QD.

In a way it is; just not materialistically. I feel spoiled to have parents that have made me pay for mostly everything I have ever wanted, since my age was a single digit. Mainly because they didn't set me up for failure, they taught me

Teaching your child how to survive and function in the world is not spoiling them. It's ensuring they make it to be the best of their ability. It's what they do with your efforts that determines their place in life. Later, QD.

My mom is a social worker for DFACS, I know there are a lot of children that aren't given what they deserve as a child (such as what we're discussing, among other things). I see it as spoiling, just because I know it's worth more than being handed what I want.

    If that makes sense

I see what you mean. But as with the other thread (not by you by admittance of stormcrow), I think mis-wording is in place. It's not so much spoiling a child by giving what is needed by the parent, but neglect when it is NOT given.

You see where I'm at? Later, QD.

I'm describing my gratefulness for my parents doing their JOB, as me being spoiled because they actually did their job.

So yes, sir, we are on the same page
