Teaching your child how to survive and function in the world is not spoiling them. It's ensuring they make it to be the best of their ability. It's what they do with your efforts that determines their place in life. Later, QD.

My mom is a social worker for DFACS, I know there are a lot of children that aren't given what they deserve as a child (such as what we're discussing, among other things). I see it as spoiling, just because I know it's worth more than being handed what I want.

    If that makes sense

I see what you mean. But as with the other thread (not by you by admittance of stormcrow), I think mis-wording is in place. It's not so much spoiling a child by giving what is needed by the parent, but neglect when it is NOT given.

You see where I'm at? Later, QD.

I'm describing my gratefulness for my parents doing their JOB, as me being spoiled because they actually did their job.

So yes, sir, we are on the same page

I see what you're saying and I don't see anything wrong with how you view it. It's a good way to feel about it, too, now that I think about it and I can say the same way about my upbringing. Later, QD.
