My parents helped pay for my first one, I still had to come up with half the MSRP, and then I'm paying for the Scion by mah self now (financing car is ONLY in my name). I think paying for your own stuff makes you learn some responsibility... too many kids where I grew up got everything handed to them on a silver platter... First car was a Mazda Navajo, then I got a camry, now I got this bimmer which is now paid off. I think I did pretty good by myself. But when I have kids I'd probably spoil the crap out of them, cuz I know how hard it was getting to where I am now.
