weed was even legal in the 1930s. but all the uses from the male plant aka hemp, nearly shut down the textile industry lol

my thought is that its illegal because it could eradicate a lot of profits for textile producers.

Wouldn't matter much anymore, most of the textile industry jobs have fled overseas.
