    I'm curious as to why people always equate slavery to racism...
    As if, because slavery wasn't in our time and because of some dumb notion that black people base claims of racism solely on slavery, that racism does not exist as a real issue in our society. Slavery and racism are two separate entities.


    Racism is real. Racism affects everyone. Racism will not go away simply by sweeping it under the rug.
