Say what? I was not alive in the time of my ancestors, and neither were you. Blah....I forgot I got to spell everything out.

But the topic is racism. You're here now. I know you experience (or feel you experience) racism today. Don't you? Or know it's still here. SO yes, you are here while racism is alive.

I didn't bring it up...the OP did, so I stated my side of the story as everyone else did. I won't forget it OR let it die.

I see what you mean in a way. But I don't just see why people can't just ignore the ignorant.

I strive to be better for the future. I didn't know I had to SAY I want to be a better person for myself...that is already a given cuz I love me.

You didn't get my point.

I stated previously "MY ANCESTORS" "MY" refers to "Ancestors" while you are picking apart individual sentences.

You most certainly did NOT get this point. I quoted you verbatim. You said, and I quote again, "MY past allows me to better MY future. Try again.

So when I have kids I will let them know where we (as a people) were and where we are now. I see nothing wrong with that. It's not reliving...it's awareness.

Now see there is an instance of NOT sweeping it under a rug. There is nothing wrong with teaching the children, ALL children, the history of this nation. But again, you're shifting the focus of my post into a direction that it was not headed in. We're talking about racism now and why it still exists, not about teaching children about it. Two completely different topics.
