i grew up in an area that was fairly prejudiced, and yet outwardly accepting to other races during childhood...wtf? i didnt experience segregation til i was on the cusp of puberty (10 for me) and the white/other parents of friends i played with, and stayed the nite at eachothers houses went from "awww!! what a great kid! so smart too!", to shit like "my parents dont want you over anymore". being young kids, we never knew the reason, 'cause my "other color" friends were still invited to my home, and were happy to come. when i was in 6th grade i finally understood why the parents did that shit.
seems like somewhere along the lines when kids no longer are kids, but on the verge of young adults, ignorant people begin to let stereotypes guide their lives, and the lives of their kids, even though they know a person being judged is good, and regardless of if it warps the childrens sense of reality. kinda fucked up to see someone you were sooo kewl with while growing up, then see them in middle/highschool and you dont even speak 'cause the folks made you not be cool anymore. me and a few elementary school friends talke the last time i went back home and the subject came up. one dude said, "man you always been cool, but later on i found out moms thought you were gonna steal from us, you grew up too fast!"

There is an upside to staying with your own race, that way you'll always have purity. If everyone dated interracially, you'd eventually make the entire population a huge mix of everything and nobody would be pure white or pure black anymore. That would suck. I am in no way a racist and I know this for a fact. I have the same amount of black friends as white friends. I treat them the same way and dont think of them any differently. I work at a subway which is 80% employed by blacks. I love my job because of the cultural differences that are there.

I guess what im trying to say is I have no problem with keeping a race how it is but I also dont have a problem with an interracial relationship. I dont mind interracial relationships but wouldnt want just one single race of people. If you want an interracial relationship then have it and let the world get used to different races dating.
