i said that i don't go around doing that because i'm not a big guy, and you're right everyone does have the ability to go around being an ass hat. Exactly. That goes along with having the "balls" to put someone in their place as well; but by only using your fists. To use "vigilante" justice to put some asshat in their place is beyond me. So, if someone doesn't respect you and you try and put them in their place, said person should fight fair? No. I disagree 100%. I have a thing called self preservation. I don't go around trying to be an asshat, but there are times that people get the wrong impression and shit just happens. When "shit" goes down, I gain the upper hand as quickly as possible (within my legal rights).

A perfect example: I showed up to a car gathering one night in a small town a few years ago. I had a buddy with me. We were in my 911 turbo and everyone else there had Fords, Hondas, Chevys, etc. No sooner did I step out of my car, someone asked me to race. I wasn't there to race, so I told him no. I didn't smirk, laugh, anything. All I said was, "No, I am just here to chill with everyone else." IMMEDIATELY I was confronted by kids that thought that I must think that I was "too good" for them. Because I was driving a $100,000+ car, they were all offended that I didn't want to race. Assumptions immediately popped their ugly heads up. They suddenly got up in my face and told me to leave or they were going to make me leave. Now, all I said was that I didn't want to race. I didn't make ANY comments that were condescending or looked down upon. These guys were being asshats. One stepped up to me. He had NO weapon that I could see, but was I going to take that chance? Hell no. I walked away with my buddy as they taunted and talked shit. Did I care? No. Could I have put that one kid in his place? Sure. Was it worth my time to do so? No. HAD he hit me, I would have fought back enough to get away. If they had kept coming, I would have shot them and/or at least ended the situation immediately. I wouldn't even think twice about it. If nothing else, the cops would have been there to arrest them. After all, I found out that the best way to really hurt people is to take their freedom and hurt their wallet. Why stand there and engage in a fist fight when I have the ability to get out of the situation unscathed? Even if I KNOW that I can whip his ass, why do it? What do you REALLY gain from that?
