A lot of people try to put a Black face on these problems, but they fail to look at the bigger picture and see that lack of education opportunities and poverty are problems that face all races. When I'm with White friends of mine and we are passed by a Caprice with 26" wheels they will make a remark about welfare fraud... they don't say anything about welfare fraud when a 5.0 Mustang, or other stereotypically "White" vehicle passes by.Originally Posted by stephen

But you can acknowledge that because of the history of slavery, (and the disenfranchisement and discrimination that came after it) Black Americans have faced a significant challenge in accessing the level of opportunities as White Americans, and that in some instances those challenges continue to this day.
But instead, you all have positioned yourselves as the backlash to "racists" like Sharpton and Jackson. You all act as if racism does not exist anymore among Whites. But really, being White myself and associating freely among Whites, I can tell you that racism is alive and well. It may not be as out in the open as 1850, or even 1968, but it is definitely there in the fringes like Stormfront.
If racism among Blacks is of such a concern to you guys that you need to constantly raise a stink about it, what are you doing about the racism among Whites? While you probably tune out the sources of White racism, why do you feel the need to focus on Black racism? Can you not tune it out as well? Can you acknowledge that the "racists" among Blacks don't speak for the entire race just as the White racists don't speak for the entire white race?
