    Default 1996 Integra won't start

Just swapped a JDM LS into a 96 Integra. I have a ground on the tranny, valve cover, and the ECU ground on the them housing. The fuel pump primes randomly, and when it does the CeL comes on, then flashed the codes I have since I jumped the ECU.....

Sometimes the pump primes, sometimes it doesn't. I cleaned the ground off real good and I still cant get it to prime everytime. Also, the car won't even turn over. I hear the main relay click, and the starter click, but it won't turn over.

I'm not retarded. Yes I do.

But on a lighter note, I got everything working with a few hours of elbow grease. So no more problems...so far.

Ok, so now the car just hiccups when it cranks over but won't actually start up. The injectors are squirting and the spark plugs are firing. Anybody have any suggestions on what might be causing this.

make sure you starter is okay. Check to see if the main power cable to you starter is secure and tight. If all is good, tap the starter housing mildly with mallet or wrench and try starting the car afterwards.

I haven't touched the timing since I got the motor, yes it is obd2. The only code that's up on the ecu right now is for intake air temp. And the jdm intake manifolds don't even have that sensor.

Try putting the car into 2nd gear, ask a few friends to push the car down the street while you're in it, and crank the engine and give it some gas. This should start the car.

I know how to push start a car, and you should only do that with a dead starter or battery. And neither my battery or starter is dead. My firing order is correct. The car kinda half started for 2 seconds or so with generous manipulation of the throttle. But didn't ever really fire.

even though you stated you did not touch the timing, i advise you to check it and correct it if it is wrong.

I did not force the distributor on. And it is sparking. I'm waiting on my friend to bring the comp tester over this evening. And I'll go from there.

I poured oil in the cylinders and turned the motor over a few times until the compression came up. Originally I had none. The car then started up but idled really rough. I ran the codes and got both 02s obviously, and IAT obviously. Then I had a TPS code and the CKP code. I did the ECU CKP bypass and the CKP code went away. The ECU is still in safe mode however and won't rev past 2700. The codes I have now are IAT 2 02 codes and TPS. Any ideas?

The compression will show low if a motor has sat for over a period of time.

i might of missed this but is the motor OBD2? obd2 is way more in depth when it comes to missing sensors, it will take everything u are missing such as IAT into consideration, and its POSSIBLE for it to keep u in limp mode just cuz of the IAT. get a DMM and check the TPS for a voltage close to 5 at WOT. if ur voltage does not change as u engage and disengage the throttle ur TPS is bad/REPLACE. if the voltage does change, that isnt ur problem and begin looking somewhere else
