youll run fine with out it, youll run in limp mode unless you have an ecu where you can turn it off. I ran without one for years, then i bought one to shut the light off, didnt feel a bit of difference not being in limp mode anymore haha.

when the ecm throws a code for a knock sensor, its because the knock sensor senses vibration. it retards the ignition timing to try to prevent spark knock. thats the purpose of a kock sensor.
