that's bc it's basically the same concept. let of the clutch as you give it gas, etc etc.

$250ish, and its called the MSF

A 600 is plenty fast even to the most experienced riders.

ya I have a 600 now and depending on the job pay I may keep it, I love the 600 and its more than enough power, but then again you can always have a little more. I am not into tricks, I just love cruse'n and I am starting to get into the twisties. I plan on going out to ALABAMA with Ducati next feb and do a few track days with them and try to sharpen my skills up. I am still a little iffy on the drag'n knees...lol...anyways thats for looking, hopefully I will have the gixxer and the ducati mid next year, or maybe hte MV AGUSTA F4-1000? Who knows, all depends on the money situation

    MV AGUSTA F4-1000

also the ducati isnt that much, $14,999 MSRP $15,500 at the dealer after all the random charges.

I'm sorry but I just can't bring myself to like the 1098, it just looks too much like everything else out there.

This is the pinnacle of Ducati's styling genius:

I rode a Ducati 999 (this one) back in March when Ducati did a test-ride at Atlanta Motor World. The one I rode had obviously been tracked (as evidenced by the chicken strips and the steering damper on it)
Its fast, but like all V-twins... it shakes like a mofo at high RPMS. Hard seat, tank to narrow to grip with your knees, and a ridiculously high MSRP.

Personally, I prefer the look/styling of the japanese bikes for the most part (though aprilia does have some nice stuff).

Besides, no way would you catch me spending over 10k on a bike!

i agree with ducati's costing to much but if the cost of the bike doesn't get the required up keep for it will. these bikes take a big hit on the wallet when it comes to the up keep. 1000mile need valve adjustments and much more. i would research that a little more ir i were you. and being a new motor you know it going to more exspensive and more often. just my i love ducati styling just the up keep is a bitch.

Let me start by saying.. dude.. sweet bike.. go get it. Kinda looks like a CBR1000RR though..

For those who want to learn, you got to go to the MSF course. Either the harley davidson dealership or the honda dealership which offers the classes. For the HD dealerships there is one in Marietta and one in Stone Mountain. The Honda riding school I believe is near Kennesaw. The Harley Davidson class provides you 5 days of learning: 3 in the classroom, 2 in the road test where you learn how to maneuver, controls, and brake. They will also teach you how to maintain the motorcycle.

Whoever is learning on a Ducati or any 1000cc.. let me tell you one thing... please don't... I may have fallen myself into a mistunderstanding, but still I'd like to put this out on the floor. You spent so much money, the throttle is highly tuned for bacisally on the track along with that fact you payed so much I don't want your hopes and dreams slammed on the left or right side... or worse.. front and rear. And most important you.

Along with riding.. no it's really not like driving stick. Shifting is on your left foot. Braking takes a great amount pressure control, along with the rear brake. The comfort zone to the clutch and the throttle must also be practiced... frequently.

check out my thread. i went back to an r6 from my ducati. have alot more fun on my 6. the duc made me feel weird and i hated the fact that it didnt have a slipper clutch. for the looks i loved the bike but other than that it was ok. took the corners like it was on rails but goin from knowing how to ride a jap bike to tyring to ride that didnt fit well. they are awesome bikes dont get me wrong. i would love to keep mine. the 1098 is almost a disgrace. when they made the 999 they pushed themselves that much further ahead of the Jap bikes. but since 03 Japs have passed ducati in performance and styling big time. the 1098 has obvious Jap styling in it and the price is a give away that they are trying to be more competitive with them. if you want a good bike wait till the 1200 comes out next yr very little is know about it but rumors say it will make busa power in the 1098 chassis with ohlins suspension. awesome bike.

Thats what I geard about ducati's. I also though about keeping the 600 because I love it, but then again it all depends if I can pay it off before march, dont wanna have 2 bike payments and a car payment.
