Accessport. You can switch maps and get custom protuned.

I've got Ecutek, its great. 2 Maps are better than the 1 map that 04+ WRXs get.

If I did it again I'd go AP so I could have more maps and be able to tell exactly which map I'm on.

Go for whichever is cheaper, you can run AP without a protune or you can find a deal on Ecutek. I bought an ECU with an ecutek license already on it and then sold my ECU, total cost for Ecutek minus tuning was $250.

I say AP... i've looked into everything else pretty thouroughly and it seems to be the best... open ecu is neat but there are some limitations and nobody's too sure on long term reliability yet... we will see...

If I can give any advice regarding modding cars on a budget, keep an eye out for what you want to do long term and buy stuff used in the NASIOC classifieds. A bunch of deals come around, just pick them up quickly.

A lot of guys are dumping their APs right now since Cobb is coming out with the sleeker 2nd version.
