Since the VW people are on this thread right now, I figure I will let you in on my plans just to see what you think.

    Black 20th AE.
    GIAC X+ ECU
Use my current Evolution Motorsports Intake
Take out the resonator on the exhaust
Turbosmart Dual Port BOV(STFU I can choose to recirculate 100% if I want to!!!)
    Maybe a FMIC
Boost Gauge and Wideband O2 sensor on steering wheel

Nothing big to start, I will do more in time if I want...
And I don't want to screw witht the body as it is a Special Edition and looks pretty good, I will smoke the side and corner markers.

X+ is definatly the way to go for the stock turbo but even though you can recirculate the BOV you still should go with a nice DV or do you just like if for the sound

Id say other than that you look like you got a good plan but I would look into getting a 3" or 2.5" downpipe that will give you a good bump in power and help the turbo spool a lil quicker.

Who are you getting a dual guage from for mounting on the steering wheel. Its personal preference but I dont like those as opposed to A-pillar guages. I always hated how the ones on the steering wheel get in the way of the clock and guages.

You can't use a pillar gauges on 00's up due to the fact that they have curtain airbags that come out of the a pillar.

You can get it from some catalog or one of those momentum website it's in my favorites somwhere.

In regards to the BOV that is a typical vw response, no offense, but there is no room for personal prefrence with vw owners it has to be one way or it's gay or rice.

Thats what I did and it was plenty loud.

Plus that BOV vs DV thing has been beatin to death in other forums. The only way a BOV works right on these cars is to recirculate all the air and by doing this you essentially make a DV, so why not just buy a DV to do what it was made for.

I had the a-pillar guages on my 04 GTI. Never had the airbag go off so I never had that problem

FYI its not the typical VW owner response its the logical response on how these cars work.

No, I understand the whole thing with MAF's running rich and stuff. I got it... And our bosch diverter works well enough that it probably isn't necessary to pay upwards of $150 on a forged diverter valve. I just simply want to try the dual port out, I may change my mind and put the money towards suspension.

It is a logical response but it is also the VW response when you called the sound .
