    looking around for one, and i thought id hit up IA cause people have these here. how hard is the swap? is there any major fabrications i have to do? how hard is the wiring? if anyone has a ca18det lmk, i prefer an automatic. (i have a bad left knee, and it hurts like shit to shift) so please lmk.

    if u want powersteering u will have to get the lines from a ka24e. other than that its the same as swapping an SR

    its gonna b a challenge trying to find a Ca 18det in automatic ! i do sr swaps but i had no idea that the ca18 swap was similar to doing sr20 swap? is the harness still color for color?

    ca and sr drop right into the s chassis. that's what your car came with stock in japan. ca is easier to fit in though.

    I guess you could say that maybe, but an SR drops right in w/ plenty of room to spare. CA is junk just like an RB20.

    i would take a ca over an rb20 any day. i was about to do a ca build and swap for my S13 but i ended up selling it earlier than expected. the rb series in my opinion suck. i was doing to ca mainy because it was cheaper and more rare. everyone has an sr.

    There is a reason everyone has an sr, most people like going fast.
    If you want 215ish to the wheels then get a CA. If I had to do a swap for cheap just to get to work I'd do that one, then 'm not tempted to mod it either.

    Ca's in automatic are pretty easy to find. All JDM convertibles were s13 ca18 autos.

    And before anybody says they didnt have s13 convertibles in Japan just shut the the fuck up.
