I agree with Blk...

Driven 3 examples of the Type R...great track car. Not too refined, but very quick. But I would recommend the Type S.

I own/drive an '05 Type S on a daily basis...very nice ride (and surprisingly quick). If you are wanting a very nice daily driver with a sport-minded attitude...invest in a clean (un-molested) Type S.

Some other points to consider:

1. As mentioned in a few previous posts, theft rate with ITR is much higher...tends to lead to higher insurance costs.

2. Loan value on ITR is much lower...banks don't tend to care about the "collectability" factor adding value. Therefore, you will be upside down if you finance as much as you can with the ITR...If you ever have it totaled/stolen, your recovery value will be less than you have invested.

3. The K20 is the future of Honda tuning...B series motors have already reached their potential...in the not too distant future, bolt-ons and technology for these motors will dry up a bit (so they will become a bit more costly to modify).

4. All that being said...there is just no denying the mystique that surrounds the ITR...for that reason alone it would be worth owning one (if even for a short period of time before you go out and buy a Type S) if you can afford the drawbacks.

Cheers!
