    Default My first New(old) Subaru

just picked up a Aspin White 1992 Legacy Sport, turbo AWD 5MT! so far eventhough it needs many things replaced it is 10 times more fun to drive then my protege ever was. From what i hear the motor in it is very highly regarded (EJ22t)and the car is pretty rare in general. i payed $1100 for it with 180k. anyone know much about these cars? ill try and get pics up soon

yes sir. 2.2l SOHC turbo non I/C (VF-11 way small turbo ), is also closed deck so i can boost her to high heaven. makes 160chp and 180ctq at 8psi. some ppl buy the STi TMIC and max out the VF-11 at 16-18psi b4 heat pump no prob. or a 16g upgrade and 440 cc injectors and run in the 300AWHp range with all stock internals, No Alternate FMU(maybe a RRFPR). ive even read of a "frankenstein" hybrid conversion of a 2.5 RS head swapped on the legacy 2.2 block with a modest trim ITS turbo With a Ver 4 sti tranny and rear diff making 490awhp. i cant wait to rip it apart and start learning more about the inner workings when it gets its rebuild

what color is yours subleg4. i think i saw another white one around yer area. what have you done to it, or is it just a DD? ya i wish i could have gotten the wagon. they look sweet imo. so that makes 3 ppl with an SS (all 92's lol) and 2 with turbo wagons, thats pretty cool seeing how rare these cars are especially in the south.

They're pretty rare and coveted by most Subaru fans.

Finding a 5MT one is even harder.

ya good luck even finding a turbo one and if you do most likely it will be a 4eat(auto). the motor is crazy, its been tested up to 450 awhp on stock bottom end (different heads i believe.. Ver 2 EJ25)they've had ppl boost well over 25-30 psi. alot of ppl buy these motor up and use them in impreza's. also almost anything parts wise for a WRX/impreza/newer legacy will bolt right up and what doesnt only need slight modification to fit. your better off finding a 89-94 legacy L 4WD and swap the motor, which can be had for about $350-400 for a very used one. or depending on what your willing to sepnd i might not love mine that much haha.

Mine is a Sport Sedan, not a wagon (just to clarify heh)
I have some suspension, WRX seats, 97 Legact GT wheels, exhaust, pullies, and other little things.

But my motor is about to be taken out come the first of the year and built up to make some good power.

We will all have to get together one day and ride to a Subaru meet and Rep for the Rare Turbo Legacys!!

werd that would be sweet. though it might have to be soon cuz i dont know how long mine will still be with me. have a friend thats debating on selling his mint(restored/rebuilt) 89 MR2. its fully caged, tokico suspension/trd springs, GC camber plates, custom cat back to a super trap muff, and a white line front swaybar. its set up for E stock solo 2. this has always been one of my dream cars and in the condition its in i think it would be a crime not to go with it if he sells that is. it would make a hell of a STS2 car i think and is almost as modded out for E stock as possible. we'll see. the legacy is still amazing though and i just did the coffee mug mod and the thing is LOUD!!! the spool up is much faster and sounds so sweet!

If any of you want to meet up with those of us on the WRXatlanta.com website we'd be glad to meet up and check out those turbo legacies. We've got more than a few Leg GT and Forester XT members.
