Slaping the b16 head on a stock gsr block will lower your compression to about 9:8 while the stock gsr long block is around 10:1.PR3 head (b16,type r) flows better than a p72(gsr) head due to its larger combustion chamber.(For you V8 guys reading)Its like having an LS1 bottom end and deciding wether to put a set of 243(ex.p72) casting 5.3 vortec heads or the ls1 heads(ex.pr3) the ls1 heads flow better but the fact that the 243's give higher CR will end up giving you more power on the stock block same as what im trying to explain in the pr3 vs p72 subject. So in general If you are planing on boost PR3 head is the head for you if your gona go all motor on the stock b18c1 block stick with your P72 head.To me sticking with your usdm p72 pistons are useless for a build. Again boost pr3 head.Stock block If you want a poormans R a good budget build for me would be pr3 head(upgrade to dual valve springs)R cams slap some p30(jdm b16 pistons) and arp rod bolts compression sould be around 11:3.If your going allmotor and using your stock long block,R cams and some pr3(usdm b16 pistons) should do the trick 11:3 compression also but in the border of 11:4
