not neccessarily. when u drive he car it charges the battery. by the time u go in and get one of those sorry bastards at autozone to test it, its prolly still charged so it shows good. that tester is dumb in some areas but smart in others.
i had a car charging at 15.5 volts and the tester said it was good. now the one camary i tested with it that was charging at 46 volts it realized that was too high. And yes, i did say 46 volts. i ducked next to the car telling them to turn it off bc i didnt know that was possible. lol!!!
