    Default forge dv/bov

so i was wondering if anyone has heard of the forge splitter dv/bov for the 1.8t. i just can't comprehend how it can be an atmospheric and recirculation valve at the same time, but i must say i'm very interested. here's a link to the site.

just scroll down to OEM - Forge Diverter Valves - ECS Blow Off Valve

ya that's a pretty cool valve, but I've had friends that have had the valve and they have had some trouble with it. its said that if its not dialed in right the boost wont feel right, right after shifting. End result you would be better off getting a normal dv. and faster b/c you'll have more boost after shifts.

How do you not understand, it splits. Half to the recirc hose half to the atmosphere. Walker(Deutschebag) has that valve or one like it on his k04 jetta and it works well and sounds good.

Half to the recirc hose half to the atmosphere.

thank you capt. obvious, i got that much from it, what i didn't understand is how it "splits" the boost without causing it to run rich.

Honestly, its not going to run TOO rich by letting the air into the atmosphere.

I mean it will slightly but not enough to really effect the motor. The problem is that the MAF measures all incoming air and if you release that air via a BOV of any type your not going to have the amount of air coming to the MAF that it thinks there will be. Doing this you will be running the risk of causing the dreaded eeeemmkay 4 CEL and generally driving like poo

I guess to answer your question splitting the air half recirc half atmosphere you have LESS of a chance of getting a CEL than running a normal BOV from what i can tell.

But do you really wanna run that risk when the car was made for a DV? Or are you just a ricer who likes to hear a WHHHHOOOOOOSHHH sound

definately not a ricer, i already get a small amount of sound from running an intake. my car is chipped and i need something better than the factory dv, b/c as we all know they are no good with running higher boost. thanks for the input though, b/c i hate a CEL. bugs the living **** out of me
