Default newly swapped H22 overheating in 93 Accord

Ok bought new battery. This time I was able to test a couple of components. Originally neither fan would come on even witht he A/C on. So first I checked the relays. I noticed that the power windows and cooling fans have the same type of relay. So swapped relays putting the cooling fan relay in the power window slot and the windows worked. I then took the relay that was originally in the power window slot, because I knew it worked, and nothing the fans still did not run.
Next I decided to make sure that the fan motors actually did run. So I straight wired each fan to the battery and each fan ran like a champ.
Next I checked the fuse and other than being about 5 amps higher,a 25A instead of 20A, the fuse looked fine.
So now I am left scratching my head because only the relay and fuse are the only two things that each fan has in common. The only thing left is each fan switch. What are the chances that each switch is bad on the H22? Helpppppp!!!

Wire them up to a switch directly and turn on/off as needed unbtil u can dial it in. Then chase the wires ALL THE WAY inside the vehicle to make sure that there are no shorts. There is also a thermo switch that turns the fans on - in addition to the relay sir.

You can wire it DIRECT, or u can put a timer circuit (radio shack) that will only allow it to run for 5 mins after u turn off the car (so u don't kill ur batt) -- OR you can just remem to turn it off everytime. ORR you can wire the power to the ECU power, or any other relay that only gets power when the car is on. Ur call. U have lots of options.

+1 to all the above. I would recommend putting it on a timer or wiring it to the a power source on the ecu. I had forgotten to turn mine off several times and that can be a pain!

now that is what I'm talking about. Thanks everyone. I am going to get the volt meter tomrorow and check both fan switches. I really doubt that both switches are out but who knows. That thermo switch, is that the same thing as the fan timer under the dash.
93 lude did you have a have a JDM H22A and also if I went with wiring the fans to the switch what does the timer look like from Radio Shack.

The fans on a 93 Accord only ran when the engine was warm enough to need them. I know from personal experience, having a half-dead F22 Accord sitting downstairs in a garage that died of over-exertion and a bent piston rod. Anyways, if the fans don't run at all ensure that the relay is linked up to the control switch properly and that the control switch is actually working. That's the major thing that would be wrong with what you're describing. I'm gonna go ahead and assume you're using a stock H22 ECU?

If you haven't already, I really recommend dropping by http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=5423

That's the swap FAQ for CB7tuner.com. You should consider making a post over there too, the guys know a ton about early 90's accords, and alot of them are running H-swaps in their rides, so they've heard all the stories.

CB7tuner is what helped me with my swap and I already have a post up over there as we speak. Brief background, I have never driven this car. I bought the car with a dead battery so I could not test anything. So I don't even know if the fans ever worked properly. Is the fan control switch under the dash and what does this timer look like at radio shack?

Wire it up to the cigarette lighter, I did this on my friends s13 fuel pump. In some Japanese cars when you crank the vehicle, the cigarette lighter begins to work so just wire it straight to the cigarette lighter by using a relay.

Just jump the fan switch plug, and the fans will run constantly, if the fan switch was plugged in then i would get a new switch.

I actually swapped upper radiator necks and used the F22 water neck and was able to use that particular fan switch.
Considering I have never driven this car let alone with the swapped finished. I am going to wire the fans to the switch and just let them come on with the switch. I appreciate the help, Thanks
I thought I was tired of driving a manual in Atlanta traffic, but I pretty sure that I am going to do a tranny swap for the manual.

    UPDATE:
I changed the thermostat and also swapped out a leaking heater hose on the passenger side. I also wired up the fans to the switch and they are coming on on when I turn the switch, however the car is still overheating. I thought maybe the temp gauge sensor was bad so I unplugged it and went for a short test drive, however when I plugged the switch back in it shot up to hot so I left the switch on and ran the fans until it cooled off.
BTW, what direction are the fans supposed to spin? My fans are spinning clockwise.
I fully bleed the coolant like the book says. I did noticed something kinda strange my upper radiator hose looks almost collapsed in one of the curves. I am using the upper hose from the H22 not my original. I can't think of anything else.
There is nothing dripping on the timing belt side. Any ideas I need help.
How can you tell if the radiator is not clogged and the coolant is flowing?
I checked the oil and no coolant in oil. I am going to go for another SHORT test drive and see if there is any white smoke.
Could it be the waterpump? But I see no drips on the timing side.
